New Wii U game from Nintendo, TT Fusion, and Warner Bros. receives first review from Game Informer.
i think we all predicted scores in the 80s and that it would be a solid game for kids, but not exactly a system seller.
I think once the Wii U starts getting a steady stream of games (The Amazing Spider-Man was the first Wii U retail release in months), the system will start selling better. I don't think just one game will do it. It's the same problem the Vita is facing currently.
"It's the same problem the Vita is facing currently." Actually the Vita got a price drop in Japan and its sales have picked up significantly in that region alone. Imagine how Sony could benefit if they drop the price worldwide? Same thing could be applied to the Wii U. If Nintendo slashed the price of their handheld, then I don't see how they can't do the same for their home console. That coupled with some new IP's. ;) As for Lego City: Undercover HOPEFULLY it's a system seller because it looks really good. ;)
To use your word "actually..." Actually, price drops historically do little in the long term for a platform. A price drop combined with software people and a steady supply of those games is what works long term, again, historically. That is why the 3DS has done much better in Japan. I don't see that happening with the Vita. There is Soul Sacrifice, and that is it. Then the Vita will again start to sell lower and lower until it's back towards Wii U levels. Also, 4 x 10,000 (4x being the number Sony said and 10,000 being the system's sales weekly) is nothing really impressive still, considering the 3DS sells 100,000 per week, across both models. I'd love the number to be much more and would love to be proven wrong, but again, without a steady stream of software the price drop will not keep sales at a sustained level. LOL Also, this is very off-topic. Did my mentioning the Vita in one sentence really interest you that much that you had to comment on that part of my entire post? Anyway... how about that LEGO City Undercover?
@Arbitor365 So you own a wii u and won't be buying it or you don't own a wii u and this doesn't convince you to buy one? I'm confused. A good score is a good score, why try to belittle it? I hope it sells well with current owners of the console and perhaps entice some people to give the wii u a go. It doesn't need to be a 'killer app'.
This game is one of the reasons I want a Wii U actually
nice pretty awesome score, i heard there wasn't side quests but other things to do to keep you occupied though like saving cats lol.
This game is on my radar for sure. As I said in another article, not because it is one of the few releases on the Wii U, but because it just looks incredibly fun.
and also it look very unique and catchy
Good to see.
this game flew pretty low but a lot of Lego games do it i guess.
I was already sold. The game looks like a blast and will suit my Wii U nicely.
I hope they ad DLC that fixes the missions. It would be better if the people on the street could offer up side missions in the game too. Still the game seems set for good reviews.
This was the reason I got the Wii U, so I can't wait! :D
nah you're obviously convincing yourself, cause u feel wiiu wasn't worth the money really
That's very true. It was not worth that kind of money. I was hoping 3rd parties would jump on it. That doesn't seem to be the case. :/ Still, this game is going to be awesome!
i am getting this game for the sake of it. 1 game since release (zombi u)..oh, i forgot that ninja gaiden port.. i just want to have a reason tu turn my wii u on again. i do not expect much from lego city and if it is not good i will sell it again, no problem there. the problem might be on developper's side. and even on nintendo's side. but i am convinced nintendo knew what they were in for. in fact, they are pulling the 3ds-stunt on us again. "let's throw our hardware one year too early on the market. so we will be there long before the other 2 which will bomb us out of the water. the very long drought until real game will be happening for the wii u we will will with a lot of hot air, nice smiles and promising the sky and then some." it worked for their 3ds and it will work for their wii u. my respect for the company: zero.
Mexican magazine Club Nintendo already has a review for Lego City. If I remember correctly, they gave it a 8.5. I just glanced at it at the convenience store, because I don't actually buy that mag... because it's awfully biased in their reviews and articles. According to them, pretty much EVERYTHING is amazing, so I don't trust them too much. :P
