Talking Point: Nintendo's Revised Approach to E3

Nintendo has often been one of the most secretive companies in the world, and while that prevents any unwanted information being leaked ahead of schedule, it means that at times it’s infuriating to follow as a fan. Up until a few years ago, the only chance we got to look inside the hallowed grounds of Nintendo HQ was at E3, where its hour-long show would present the biggest news for the coming months and beyond; for the rest of the year, the most we saw was a new trailer or a handful of screenshots. It was secrecy of the highest order.

Nintendo Direct has changed that, adjusting Nintendo's methods of communicating with fans and its approach to E3. (3DS, Industry, Nintendo, Tag Invalid, Wii U)

Nintendo Direct is an excellent tool for Nintendo. It allows them to get the message out, directly to fans, without it being "filtered" by the gaming press... And to be honest, Iwata is so adorable I'd watch him presenting the weather!

I said "adorable" (Adjective:
Inspiring great affection; delightful; charming)... I never said I wanted to smash his dung funnel in ;)

If Nintendo was to give the game reveals directly to the media they'd negatively spin it. With Nintendo Direct it cuts out the middle men, AKA IGN, GameSpot, etc.

I never said that you did.
I was just clarifying for my own sake-
You know how trolls can be.

But should someone (not you or me) have that opinion- and i am sure that someone in this big-o world of ours does
-I personally, would not care.

A Nintendo Fan is a Nintendo Fan... we fight the fight together and as brothers and sisters!
We are ALL MARIO- and Mario is ME!
As we yell, "It's me Mario!"

Yep, joking on too much caffeine.
