VGR: This is a very big moment for Ubisoft. Annualizing the franchise without it following the story is completely different than shipping out new titles with a handful of new features.
I agree. Ubi is milking hard. Time will tell if they will be successful
I may have been disappointed by certain things in a few of the AC games, but there hasn't been a single one yet that I didn't feel was worth buying. So I'm okay with the milking. Until they start making bad games, who cares?
Yeah, Assassin's Creed is something I look forward to playing each year. I've yet to come away from one of the games and feel as though I wasted my money. The one that disappointed me the most was Revelations, but I still thought overall it was a good game and I had a lot of fun with it. I think my hopes were a little too high for 3, but again, I think overall it was a good game and I had a lot of fun with it. I'm definitely looking forward to 4... pirates and more naval combat, count me aboard.
i totally agree, there are things in assassins creed that made me say meh like the tower defence type mini game... but there is something about assassins creed that just pulls me in, I thinks the single player and story - its a game that is story focused and you get feeling they didnt just hash the story together in 5 mins like some games that only care about multiplayer
The reason they get released so frequently isn't because they're rushed but because they have loads of different teams developing at once. Black Flag started development started development like 2 years ago, and is releasing at the end of this year, that's 3 years development time. They probably even have a team developing or planning Assassin's Creed V as we speak.
