Is It Too Soon For A New Assassin’s Creed

The Tyuno Project: "As many of you may know, Ubisoft official release the trailer for their next game, Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag. Ubisoft have also stated that the new game will be available on October 29 2013. Now I’m a fan of the Assassin’s Creed series, but I have to say is why do we need a new Assassin’s Creed game so soon? " (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Yes. It seems like it could have been a expansion pack or something.
SavageKuma  +   997d ago
Hell yea it is too soon, and what about desmond for those that didn't play I will not spoil it!

I have no clue why anyone would disagree with you. ACIII released 4 in a half months ago? Then 4 month later a brand new one gets announced?

I thought it was just me thinking games were getting dull and rehashed but the industry is indeed shoving these Ip's down my throat. This is a new low for Ubisoft, considering people haven't even beat ACIII or just now buying it for the first time.

Whatever I'm not buying it. I didn't even buy ACIII due to Ubisoft annually releasing it. Instead I'll be playing new Ip's from PS4 and 720.

Done with AC and number of other exhausted Ips for a while.

well I think because people are thinking about the actual launch date why they disagree, It will be a bout a year by the time this game is released and it is an annual title. it just seems early cause of the early advertising. but I most say this every body allways saying halo is milked but fuack that this and call of duty are the 2 most milked franchises in gaming right now, there as been what 20 call of duties and something like 15 assassins creed games but the thing is they are two of the biggest selling games.
Mikelarry  +   997d ago
I couldn't agree more, i stopped playing the series after i bought brotherhood because then after that was revelations then ac3 now 4 no time to digest and reflect on the story and game
FarCryLover182  +   997d ago
Yeah, but since there's been one every year since 2009, it is not surprising.
SlapHappyJesus  +   997d ago
The last game in the series was arguably the weakest and was in a bit of a rough state upon release.

We already have confirmation of the next game and a trailer.
Yeah. It's too soon.
kingmushroom  +   997d ago
I agree, Ezios story was waaaay better.

hopefully they develop a good story for Edward Kenway
goldwyncq  +   997d ago
Call of Duty has one every year ever since 2006 yet I don't remember as much articles about it being too soon, whereas every AC article is plagued with milk jokes and complaints.
classic200  +   997d ago
Its so common now for cod yearly, no one cares about talking about the obvious anymore. Even if core gamers stop playing the casuals will play it, but one day it will slip in sales.
Omar91  +   997d ago
Is it to soon? yes

Will Ubisoft continue this trend? yes

Will they continue to make millions on annual AC releases? yes
Blank  +   997d ago
I feel mixed if it was another typical entry I wouldve ignored this one but its a pirate game! I feel that we need more pirate games so ill keep an eye out for this one only because of the pirate theme
KwietStorm  +   997d ago
Its entirely not too soon. The last one only came out a few months ago. And the year before that. And a year earlier. And the year prior to that...
pr0t0typeknuckles  +   997d ago
nah its not being milked yet, theres room for another ac every year,

in all seriousness though, hell yes its to soon ac3 just came out in october and already were on ac4,i like how ubisoft is willing to milk and drive ac into the grave yet they downright refuse to make a proper Prince of Persia game, or make beyond good and evil 2, or how they can delay rayman legends all the way into september in which we all know is now grand theft auto territory but they can make an assassians creed every year, and ensure that its not being released near another AAA game,Ubisoft stop smoking the kush and get your act right.
IWentBrokeForGaming  +   997d ago
Assasins of Duty, releasing too much and too often? nooo wayyyyy?
Ares84HU  +   997d ago
AS long as people keep buying it every year and Ubi will make millions on it every year it won't end. Why should it??? It's good business to beat the iron while it's hot.

I say why not keep it coming. At this rate, we can be playing time pieces the history of the world. I want China, Egypt, Greece, The Dark Age England, The Cold War, WWI Germany by the end of next Generation. Life is too short, people.

Just a try-hard series for the masses who think they're 'intellectual'.

Played between sessions of CoD/Battlefield/Fifa/Mass Effect.

Only now Ass Creed is venturing way out of the area of 'originality' into 'copypasta'; only the 'fans' will see it as cool, original and intelligent.

The ones that call it out for not being original yet played every one prior to this? They'll buy it too cus they're 'same-heads'.

Actual gamers? Well they will give attention to games worth giving a damn about i.e. "Project Eternity", "Star Citizen".

Seriously it's like these same-head so called 'gamers' and 'nerds' walk into the game shop, get to letter "A" on the game shelf and just go "HURR! I'll have this new Assassins Creed! Cus Assassins!"

Nah, lol, but I'll keep it in mind.

I never bought into AC2: Brotherhood, Revelations, and AC3, probably due to this subtle trend (not so subtle now, I guess). However, I think that this release is too soon.

I also think that the title Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag could be indicative of several AC4 sub-games in the future like, "AC4: Brotherhood, Red Flag, Green Flag, etc." This is just my opinion and view on the matter.
ironfist92  +   997d ago
If this wasnt AC, and just marketed as a Pirates game, people would be positive about it. But because its part of a yearly franchise (whilst I DO agree they need a break), people feel the need to bash it.
SDF Repellent  +   997d ago
They should've named it Assassin's of the Caribbean. That should do it.
pr0t0typeknuckles  +   997d ago
no, people would say hey this is an assassians creed with pirates so what was the point of the name change, all in all ac is getting old and fans of other ubisoft properties like prince of persia or beyond good and evil, are getting frustrated at ubisoft for deciding to throw those series in the corner and milk ac to death, i mean come on man as a fan you have to admit its just getting old,ac3 was boring.
NateCole  +   997d ago
Reveal to soon perhaps. It will come out at the end of the year like previous iterations.
I don't see why they would bother making a game based around the worst parts of AC3.
GraveLord  +   997d ago
No, it's not. We get a new Assassin's Creed game every year. Deal with it.
DaGR8JIBRALTAR  +   997d ago
AC2 was the last great game in this series.I've yet to finish Brotherhood,Revelations or AC3.And don't get me started with ac3,that game is boring as hell!

pr0t0typeknuckles  +   997d ago
last great game it was the only great game in the series
1-boring,repetetive trash
brotherhood:ac 2.5
revelations:boring,useless,tr ash

lol,i love assassians creed most importantly ezio but if i were to compare this franchise to prince of persia, rayman,or splinter cell, then only 1 game would stick out for ac and multiple for the others.
JaredH  +   997d ago
I was shocked to see the cgi trailer as an ad on tv for preordering already. It was on FX Canada like every second or third commercial break. Is that like a usual thing to market games this early?

R_aVe_N  +   997d ago
I would say no since it is a launch title from next gen consoles so they have been working on it for awhile.
MartinB105  +   997d ago
It's never too soon.

If the game comes out sooner than I want to buy it, that just means it will be cheaper by the time I do want to buy it.

I don't see why getting games cheaper should be something to complain about.
ISNeko  +   997d ago
But they've already been coming out every year.... I think the only reason people are too sooning this is because it's been revealed after some people just couldn't help but leak it.

If this was E3 maybe people would be like "Hey that looks pretty cool." Instead of, "It's fucking March and the game already is announced?"

AC is just like CoD essentially now. You know there's another one each year. Why anyone is ever surprised is beyond me.
