this will get many goty awards for sure, and i say that in full confidence having never played it, plus against a year stacked with great titles.
the reason is aside from being absolutely stellar is quality as well as a mature; emotional storyline and delivery, its going to send a message to devs that the rehashed, overused crap weve been getting for years isnt good enough, and gamers want more.
in a couple years time, we will look back and think of game history as before last of us and after last of us.

Thanks for the laugh. Such a high praise for a game we have yet to play. Mate GTA V will get more nomination then this game, I base that on much bigger fan base and also much more content if other GTAs are anything to go by.

This game can be compared to game such as Uncharted couple of years ago. Has the rehased decreased? Have the overused typical shooter theme changed? NO! We get more then what we got before. Eg: COD just keep selling more and more.
Gaming industry wont change because one dev releases high quality game. If we as gamers keep buying the game, it will continue.
Your also assuming that GTA will get more nominees then the last of us when we also dont know or the next GTA will be any good or not. I think the GTA series has gone pretty stale since san andreas but thats just me. If there is any dev that can go toe to toe with rockstar, its naughty dog. Besides all the perfect 10's the last GTA got were all overhyped reviews & GTA didnt even win GOTY that year despite being the highest rated game that year lol.
