Tomb Raider is a fantastic start to a bold, new direction for the franchise | GameZone

GameZone's Mike Splechta writes: "Reboots can be risky. On one hand, you run the risk of alienating long-time fans of the original franchise by changing it too much, only to appeal to a larger audience. However, if you don't change the game enough, you're left with the same crowd who enjoyed the previous games, but also criticized it for the lack of innovation. Luckily, Tomb Raider does everything right." (PC, PS3, Tomb Raider, Xbox 360) 9.0/10

A bold new direction... emulating Uncharted more than UC ever emulated TR.

Isn't Uncharted more of a Tomb Raider rip-off though? Tomb Raider has been around for much longer and is far better known than Uncharted.

In either case, someone is looking for an artifact or trapped somewhere in an adventure setting with hostiles of some sort involved. And if that is the case-- Indiana Jones would probably be more of an accurate comparison of where these IP's originated from.

TR was here first but they both borrow from each other. I love Uncharted but TR still has better platforming IMO. I'm glad this game turned out well. GOTY contender for sure.
