Eurogamer - Tomb Raider publisher Square Enix has told Eurogamer it is looking into the fact that Tesco has begun selling copies of Tomb Raider early.
wish Amazon had shipped me my copy early :(
Wish I would have gotten an early copy
A dislike for a simple comment like that? trolls will be trolls. I swear I think they are the worst on n4g though.
I got mine last friday from ebay. It's a great game and worth buying but it doesn't really feel like a Tomb Raider game in my opinion. @Relentk77 I'll just paste my comment from what I thought about it in another article: I got the game last friday and I can tell you now it really doesn't feel like a Tomb Raider game. If you have played all 3 Uncharted games the action sequences in Tomb Raider feel a little Déjà vu. I've kind of had my fill of the over the top action sequences, some parts are exactly the same as Uncharted. I'll be getting a lot of disagrees for saying this but it's true, if you've been playing Uncharted there will be a lot of moments where you roll your eyes because it's a been there done that situation. I also don't like what they have done to Lara Croft, the attitudes gone and the thick English accent is lacking, you can tell the game has been made by an American studio as opposed to the Core games made in the UK. BUT...it is a great game and worth buying, when you're solving puzzles in tombs or taking enemies out stealthily with your bow and arrow it's an amazing game. The graphics and semi-open world are very impressive too. Also the platforming is top notch and you'll have a great time finding the secrets. I just wish they got rid of all the over the top action parts because it's just not what Tomb Raider is about and when it's not doing that it's at its best.
It looks like Uncharted to me lol would you say a person who loves the Uncharted series probably love the new Tomb Raider?
Thanx for your opinion on the game, cuz I am defnitely thinking of getting it, even if its not now and in the future + bubbles for helpful
I hate street dates... just ship the thing and let people buy it when its ready. I know there are reasons but still...
It is understandable 90% of games are released in the UK on a Friday.
The whole fixed date thing is utterly retarded, as is the general Friday release for UK games, whereas the US tend to get games on Tuesdays. The fact that games have to release on either day is ludicrous. So what if Tesco has sold some copies early? who cares? stupid Square-Enix...I applaud stores (online stores in particular) who ship games early.
Hahaha this site is making me laugh today. Take some business and economic classes and all this frivolous stuff will start to make sense. Different consumer groups have different buying habits, thats why business models are different throughout the world. You may not like it but it makes them all more money.
stores sell more early copies when word gets out they broke street date gamers like that
is there a penalty for stores if they break street dates though?
Here in Australia it had a nationwide launch date of March 5 but was eventually sold at an earlier date. I bought mine on the 2nd of March because I always keep the receipt.
depends. They usually get a smack on the wrist. If you were a mom and pop shop you would get screwed over when you went to pick up a few copies to sell. (reason why there are so few stores these days.)
Too late Square. That horse has already left the barn...and made its way into the burger patties.
