Desmond's gone, but Ubisoft has found a new hero to anchor its Assassin's Creed franchise through the modern-day Assassin/Templar war: You, the player.
Interesting. This idea was pretty much the setup for "you" being Adeline in AC: Liberation on Vita.
The guy from Lost?
I am Desmond.
Big spoilers for anyone still playing to play AC3 in the opening paragraph of this preview.
Thanks for the heads up. Had a hunch it would contain spoilers :) +bub
Oh man what a mess, franchise fatigue folks.
how is this a mess? its already done it in AC3:L
Jesus! Huge spoiler in the first 2 words! WTF!!!???
Also, they havent said when its out for the PS4. They said that it would be announced later.
Isn't that the whole point of Assassins Creed though...to view someone's memories to help save the world in the future. <SPOILERS> Juno is now free....surely they have to find a way to stop her. Desmond father should of went out and looked for an descendant of Eve for the new trilogy. This whole "You the player" crap is bullcrap in my opinion
Yeah I agree. I think AC4 is the 'filler' in between AC3 and its true sequel. It's the reason why the game has a subtitle. If Connor was a popular character like Ezio then this would have been called Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. Funnily, this would please those who hated the modern day story in AC.
They still could of called it "Assassins Creed Black Flags" I mean it's Connors Grandfather so they are still connected in a sense, plus they are using the engine found in AC3 so it would of made sense to make it a spin off instead
So if something has a subtitle it automatically makes it filler? Makes sense with Call of Duty but I wouldn't say Assassins Creed.
i don't know much about Assassins Creed since the only game i have is brotherhood and i didn't even complete it, just didn't like it...but wouldn't it be better if they just simply tell the story of Edward Kenway with this one without all this Animus thing?
As long as there's a good amount of mystery and conspiracy happening in the modern day timeline, I'll be happy ^^ I know lots of people didn't like playing as Desmond, but I found the connection between the past and present story lines to be incredibly interesting.
All this time I've spent playing video games I could of been out using hidden blades to kill Templars?
SEE!?!? Video games are responsible for violence! /s
It's the only thing I hate about the franchise is the animus and Desmond parts! Please just get rid of them.
Desmond should have been gone at least 3 games ago...I hate when they break into animus gameplay. BORING!
So true, but he's dead for sure after AC3. Still, some of his missions (Brazil) weren't so boring like the shit from previous games. In the end, I'm glad he's gone.
Thank God he is gone and I am he
