Shenmue 3 could be headed to the Wii U

One of the main things to expect is Nintendo Support. Back in the day, Suzuki wanted Shenmue to be a Sega Dreamcast exclusive. With the industry looking different these days, Suzuki could very well be looking to make Shenmue 3 a Wii U exclusive. The Game could use quite a few unique spins on the Gamepad that not a lot of other developers would ulitize. (Wii U)

If this true I will be a guaranteed buyer.

I really doubt he would make it WiiU exclusive. Budget would be too big for a exclusive release.

Didn't Shenmue 1 cost about 47 million dollars to make and the second one cost about 70 million? That is close to 65 to 100 million in today's US dollars. I truly doubt it being a Wii U exclusives, I doubt it being exclusive to any platform at this point.

They will release the games on as many platforms as they can to make up every dollar invested into the game.

If this was exclusive to the Wii U, this game would push some serious consoles sales.

Seeing how Shenmue was the only hope left for the Dreamcast against the hype of PS2, Shenmue 3 would make perfect sense exclusive on Wii U.

Spiritually making Shenmue III as Wii U exclusive makes sense. The PS2 was announced, it was a dark time for Sega and Shenmue was the only thing to look forward to. Hopefully Nintendo can fund it like Bayonetta because I know Sony and Microsoft sure as hell won't.

Sega and Nintendo for life.

I doubt Sega would want to make Shenmue 3 without taking advantage if Shenmue's spiritual successor popularity. SO if it was ever made, it would be a multiplat game from the Ryu Ga Gotoku studio (assuming Sega would give this game the budget for a new engine.)

I hope the rumor of using Kickstarter to help fund Shenmue 3 is true.

What a misleading title; what the article pretty much is saying is that Shenmue may be funded, and if it is, it could head to Wii U and pretty much every other system out there.

Wii U exclusive? Well Iwata did say they were looking around for third party to obtain much more exclusives, they should fund this like Bayonetta 2. Maybe we'll see it @ E3

U bayonetta Sony drones?

Shenmue could come out on my old broke Dreamcast console for all I care, just make it happen, please. I might even buy a copy of Aliens:CM to support Sega if somehow they can finish the Shenmue project.

Nintendo is doing well with Japanese developers (so far this Gen), I think that they can get a port-

If the "IF"'s come true.

Played Shenmue 2 on my xbox. It did come out as an xbox exclusive. That game was awesome with great graphics. Too bad it didn't sell well enough(about 400,000) for Shenmue 3 to be made. Would not have heisitated to buy it.
Nintendo does have the money to make this game with Sega. But I agree with the other comment that it would have to be on multi- platform to be profitable.

Definitely a game Nintendo could use right now!
