Multiperson, Miiverse Chat Planned for Wii U?

Plans from the Wii U's video technology provider could suggest new features on the way to Nintendo's system.

The Wii U currently has a one to one chatting system that uses the GamePad between two friends on the system. Whilst it's clear and simple to use, a game has to be stopped to start chatting.

The story is too old to be commented.

Too bad they did not have these at Launch...
It will be harder to educate the public about these New changes.

Anyway... "Extending to mobile devices soon" seems very promising.

I have to agree. As much as I love my Wii U you can tell parts of the OS are rushed. As for Wii U Chat, Nintendo needs to bake that into the core of the system more because as it stands it's completely impractical to use - not only do you have to quit your game to use it, but the damned thing takes forever to load.

It's not the only weird oversight though... Am I missing something or is there no mechanism to send a message to somebody on your Friends list?

* Chat starts.
Iwata: Hello?, Oh, it's you Reggie! How are you?
Reggie: Fine. Listen, i just called to say that my body is ready.
So uh...yeah, bye!
* Chat ends.
