DSOGaming writes: "Nvidia has released some new drivers for its graphics cards today. According to the release notes, this new set of drivers offers 23% better performance in a variety of games for GeForce 400/500/600 series GPUs."
Correction: This is a driver for the GTX 600 series cards. The newest driver for the GTX400/500 series is still 314.07.
Bet you didn't even read the release notes :P : "New in GeForce 314.14 Drivers Performance Boost – Increases performance by up to 23% for GeForce 400/500/600 series GPUs in several PC games vs. GeForce 314.07 WHQL-certified drivers. Results will vary depending on your GPU and system configuration. Here is one example of measured gains:" Nvidia has not properly updated its website yet, so use the links found in the article in order to download them.
I don't understand how the drivers aren't on the manufacturer's website but are on some random website. I'll try downloading 'em, but I seriously doubt they're appropriate for my 460. Even Nvidia Update can't find a newer driver than 314.07. EDIT: Guess I was wrong, they work. Although I have no clue what improvements in what games I can expect.
@Buljo: The download links are from Nvidia's website ;). They simply have not updated yet the pages for when searching a new driver
. Here is one example of measured gains: GeForce GTX 680: quoted from the article 400/500 series cards probably haven't been tested in benchmarks.
OMG 23% increace on sniper elite... a game that already runs at over 100fps. I'm still waiting for Farcry 3 to be fixed... the stuttering is annoying.
I hope to god these fix the crashing issues with Crysis 3..
Hopefully for you, but I've been fine this time. I had same problem with Far Cry 3 when released, nothing worse than crashing in a new game.
I hope these fix issues with mechwarrior online.
Damn. Going to go home later and get this for my 670.
I wonder if there are any SLI boosts for my twin 660ti's.
I need a new card.. Im still rocking a GTX 260
And people say consoles are the only things that get optimization.... My graphics card has almost doubled in power since release just from drivers and some light overclocking.
Why bring consoles into a PC article?
All the cool kids are doing it. Also im massively sleep deprived, am recovering from a very poor jogging experience and am currently fueled by anime and half a gallon of soy milk. So my sanity levels are pretty low. Also on a related note, there is a lot of discussion on the long term value of both pc and console gaming at the moment, i guess all the rage wars has my mind in a rut.
I'm receiving my GTX TITAN today, so I guess I'll download this ahead of time. Good times lie ahead, my friends! :)
Thanks for letting us know how poorly you spend your money.
Thanks for letting us know how much a hater you are.
Funny how some people earn money and can afford whatever they want... Funny how broke fools try to make them look bad for it. I am sure you are one of the guys that want to take his money and give everyone Geforce400 series cards instead.
Good times ahead last time i checked games dont get more fun just becuase you throw a 1k video card at them
No mention of an SLI profile for 3DMark 2013 either! I get a good score on a single GPU, soon as I enable SLI my score halfs in the FireStrike benchmark, I'm not alone with this either. SORT IT THE FUCK OUT NVIDIA!
Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seems like Crysis 3 is running a bit smoother for me with this beta driver. TXAA is still demanding, which I don't understand. It's supposed to be less demanding than MSAA but provide higher quality. TXAA was great in Assassin's Creed III, but in Crysis 3 it's incredibly demanding in either Medium or High forms. I guess I'll stick with SMAA Medium (SMAA + 2X MSAA) for now.
