Interview with Gears of War: Judgment Level Designer Jim Brown [Capsule Computers]

Zac Elawar from Capsule Computers wrote:

"Gears of War: Judgment’s release is just around the corner on March 19th, and I recently received the opportunity to not only get some hands-on time with the campaign, but also interview the lead level designer at Epic Games, Jim Brown.

We have to thank Xbox Australia, EB Games and, of course, Epic Games for facilitating, organising and hosting the event. And a massive thanks to Jim Brown, who has worked on the Gears of War franchise now for a decade." (Dev, Gears of War Judgment, Industry, Xbox 360)

Talk about franchise fatigue. I have absolutely zero interest in this game and I'm a big fan of the series.

I must admit that it was wearing on me after the 3rd game also, but Judgment is doing many new things. It just might pull you back in! :)

I'm so freaken excited for this game.

This is a totally fresh look at re-designing Gears. How can you not be excited as a fan?

Is Cole in this game? The football moment with Cole was the highlight of the last game. Gotta give the brother some love.

Read the actual interview and you'll find out! There's a question on his involvement.

I haven't seen much in the way of advertising for this game. They're either not too big on this title because it is a prequel or I've been missing everything they've been showing off. Gears of War 3 was shown off everywhere by now and this is coming out in two-three weeks with little fanfair.

Yeah it seems that way.

Maybe they're ashamed? Ha ha.

I think the only Gears of War I liked was the first one and that's because it seemed to do a lot of things different. The other two were pretty... meh.

Hopefully this one turns it around a bit.

Honestly, I think they're very proud of it. But, I'm with you guys...I don't know why they haven't been advertising it outside of a few featurettes.
