NCSoft Licenses Unreal Engine 4 For Next-Gen MMO

After garnering lots of success from Lineage II and Blade & Soul using Epic Games' Unreal Engine, NCSoft is back for more with the Unreal Engine 4 and they're pumping out some next-gen MMOs (even more next-gen than TERA and Blade & Soul), which means we could be seeing Lineage or other NCSoft titles upscaled within Epic's latest engine. (NCSoft, Next-Gen, Tech, Unreal Engine 4)

PC's big money maker.. The MMO.

Hopefully, Sony's prior deal can bring something great to life. I remember being excited E3 09 I think it was when Sony announced the deal with NCSoft. The PS4 will be purpose built with MMO's in mind. DCUO is an animation intense MMO that is working fairly decently on the PS3. Not as smooth as its PC counterpart, but functional nonetheless. I am most excited for the potential of open world games and MMO's for the Playstation 4. Can't wait to see future projects.

WoW and Diablo definitely are. I'm not sure about SC. Is it?

I guess it all depends on what you like rpg wise ,outside of still playing a modded Skyrim an there an revisiting Witcher 2. I don't see any other rpg I would want to play on PC. RTS games are few far an in between lately with hots being a major update to an already out SC2. As I honestly don't know I single person that plays an x4 game. An FPS games are pretty low on my list with probably the exception of something like Bioshock Infinite which should look brillant on my gtx 680.

If they can use this engine in a large scale and wide scope then it will be the most epic thing we have seen to date. if they make a grat looking game but it is not a large scale then it will be not as good. mmo needs to be giant scale environment and if they do that with unreal 4 visuals then OMG we will be in for a treat indeed.

real question is How long will it take them to get this to market considering new engine and everything

MMOs take 3-5 years before the public sees them in most cases. Likely this is in prep for Guild Wars 3(20xx) or some new MMO from them possibly on more than one platform. Either way I don't expect to see it uncovered until at least 2015/2016 at the earliest.
