VGO writes: For many old-school gamers, some of their fondest memories of games was uncovering the mysteries and the secrets that each game had. Video game worlds seems to be filled to the brim with hidden objects, legendary artifacts, and secret passage ways that were just waiting to be discovered by players who looked carefully or knew the right people. Every game had something to hide and that made each copy of Nintendo Power and source alike sacred in the hands of the young gamer. However, in more modern games, secrets are becoming less and less prevalent. They are becoming less essential to beating the game and mitigated more to fun extras. They have become less hidden, often hinted at in-game and with less tangible rewards like trophies and achievements.
