Xbox Live: 24 hour sale on Red Dead Redemption, Portal 2, Arkham City & more

There are some fantastic 24 hour deals on Xbox Live today. Unmissable, in fact…

Xbox LIVE have been running some great 24 hours deal. We’d argue that today features the best of the bunch.

Batman Arkham City, Portal 2 and Red Dead Redemption at £8.99 each? Yeah…. (Batman: Arkham City, Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, Xbox 360)

Microsoft is really stepping up their game lately. Some of the deals have been irresistible these last few days.

I do so hope this is a sign of things to come, and not some quick 'sorry' package to the fans so that they buy a '720'. Suprised to see there are some genuinely good deals. Too bad a don't buy digital games, unless they are arcade titles.

Because of these prices I have bought 8 great games so far for $2.99 and $4.99.

RDR and Arkham City was free on PS+.
I would appreciate if Microsoft did the same for us Xbox live users as well.

you are renting those games, you cant play them after your subscription ends. so its not "free" when you have to pay to play them.

saying games are 'free' pn PS+ is like saying online play is free on xbox live gold LOLOL. nice try though

Not this again.

I originally bought PS+ for early demos, priority beta invitations, special offers, full game trials and automatic downloads.
Even if you want to call PS+ a rental service, it's the best thing Sony has ever done in the online department and it sort of craps on Xbox Live to be honest. The amount of stuff I get for a few quid a month is fantastic.

I have been on Xbox live for over 5 years now and I would love them to do something similar to what Sony has done, rather than charging us for online play, which by the way is free on every other platform.

i dont know if you are stupid or what but if you think for a short while let's admit you rent the games from Sony, once you finish the game you dont touch it anymore! so i prefer to rent a game at almost 0 cost rather than buy it.

you are a pigeon you pay for Xbox Live to pay for a game, it's your own choice.
ALLWRONG  +   78d ago
"Not this again." just because you live in denial doesn't make it not true.
ThanatosDMC  +   78d ago
And you pay to play multiplayer games that you've all ready bought, why again???
SonyAddict  +   77d ago
Yeah but its a much better deal than anything Microsoft have ever done..are you jealous?
fantomena  +   77d ago
Ps Plus stille gives you something. LIVE pushes you to buy something which is suppose to be free.
GoldenMonkey34  +   78d ago
@Genuine-User Portal 2 wasn't, and if we cancel our Xbox live membership we actually get to keep the games

Well you don't really own the game. It's just a license to play it online. Microsoft and valve own it.
I see what you're saying though and I knew that already, these deals are nothing special. PSN has them all the time.

So psn has had those three games or games of thy quality for that low of prie all the time? Lol show me
EliteDave93  +   78d ago
I would hardly call this deals since you can get them for much cheaper than this.

Exactly.
Emzx99  +   77d ago
Oh I suppose you can prove that right?
GoldenMonkey34  +   78d ago

Go to Steam during a winter sale or a summer sale and you can get it for about 3,49£, maybe even less.

"XBOX gold has better social. PS4 is going to be better on social but for now XBOX rules the roost." (From the article)

I'm gonna archive this; even an MS employee admits there's a lot of work that needs to compete with what Sony is doing.

Microsoft has come out of left field with these great deals this week. Free Live Weekend, Gears Judgment reveal tomorrow on prime-time before Family Guy.
Things are getting interesting!

Man, it's looking good. I hope this is the start of a better, brighter future coming up for the Xbox brand!

Finally some damn optimism for MS from N4G!

Microsoft is up to something, with these great Xbox live deals going on, I think no doubt the next xbox will be BC and the transition will be just like going from one x360 transferring to another.

I was able to snatched up The 2 expansion packs for Oblivion a week back at a great price and just picked up Spec Ops and Portal 2 with the sales. Great prices. Hope there is something for everyone.
TheOneEyedHound  +   78d ago
I Prefer to buy them on craigslist.
kingPoS  +   78d ago
Whats not to like about good games being discounted. I may not own an xox, but that doesn't mean I would want a fellow gamer to miss out on a sale.
MasterD919  +   76d ago
Sucks that none of the DLC packs for all of these games are included in the sales. You'll pay more for DLC at these prices than you would for the entire game!
