Randy Pitchford on the "tug of war" between creativity and business

(Gamesindustry.biz) The Gearbox head also tells us that gun violence wouldn't be as big an issue if the NRA acted more like the ESRB (Gearbox Software, Industry)

After the ACM debacle I just have a hard time believing anything Gearbox says.

"Imagine if the NRA was actually advocating for gun laws; imagine if the NRA had the same relationship with the gun industry that the ESRB has with the game industry."

Annnd there goes my last ounce of respect for Randy Pitchford. Typical Austin liberal douchebag. I swear, Travis County is like a big blue turd in the middle of the great red awesome punch bowl that is Texas.

Yes Randy, all gun violence is CLEARLY the NRA's fault. DAMN THEM and their belief in personal freedom and gun education advocacy and not wanting Congress to pass even MORE RESTRICTIVE gun laws that only affect law-abiding citizens and that criminals will ignore because, you know... they're CRIMINALS. /s

Neither the NRA or ESRB has any business, let alone right, to be meddling in either of their respective industries.

Sadly these days, it doesn't feel like a tug of war between creativity and business, with companies like EA and Capcom, it's more of a case of the bulk of the creativity is going into the business side of things with the major innovations going to ways to make more $$$ after the game is sold.

If only they hadn't put out that demo and given assurances, there would be nothing to argue or condemn these guys for.
MrUndrhill  +   755d ago
Worst guy is the worst. I can't stand Pitchford anymore.
