If I owned sony I would somehow track gamestop used game prices and make the digital version of ps4 games the same price in each zip code. I think people would just buy on psn since it's instant.

Also I would allow people to give up rights to the game and basically give them 23% of the current price in psn credit towards another game. Digital games cost $0 to copy so why not?
This may still mean sony could profit but of course there are details that I am probably not thinking of.

If they make it a ps+ feature then that could probably still pay for servers.

Also I would offer a dedicated server feature for all games + 13% off every psn game(which would be around $8 off every $60 games) for $15 more/month.

Every once in a while I'm forced to agree with Patchett and this is one of those times. There will be a substantial trade in boost as new console and games come out as some people simply either can't afford to pay cash or find it the best time to trade in ones they don't use anymore which GS will in turn sell for profits (and buy even cheaper than usual due to more people selling... at which point some will buy old ones when new console stock is nonexistent or simply by uninformed parents).

Then there is the simple fact GS will have large sells due to ease of paying off slowly before release.

Of course they are. People take their old systems and games, cash them in for credit to put toward new systems. Gamestop jacks up the prices, and right before the last minute Christmas rush hits, they unload everything. Its the nature of their business, and new console launches are Huge for them.
