Borderlands 2 new level-cap raising DLC might come out sooner than expected

After being asked whether the new “Borderlands 2” DLC which would raise the current level-cap in the game would be coming out by the end of March, Randy Pitchford today responded that time will tell as there’s a lot to the process but didn’t outright say no. Instead he simply responded, “We’ll see. It’s turned out to be a huge amount of work.”

So while the President of Gearbox Software didn’t say yes, but he also definitely didn’t say no. In the past, when asked questions like this, Pitchford would usually state that they aren’t ready to make such announcements. So his vague answer might mean that the DLC is closer than what was originally expected. (Borderlands 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

We should believe evrerything randy says all the time

I expected it months ago, so it's much later than expected.

At this point I don't even really give a shit, it should have been raised with the first DLC.

I think that's too much to ask with the first DLC. It wasn't even that long after the game released.

"Soon" proves to be too little too late for those of us who reached the level cap within the first few weeks post-launch. The entire game is built upon the leveling system and when that ended, so did the game for me. It's all about keeping momentum and in that sense they didn't cater to the die hard gamer, which is a shame IMO.

I wonder if this is actually because they've gotten things done ahead of time or if this is just a knee-jerk "release something good so they forget!!" reaction to the Aliens shitstorm. Oh well, I'm happy so long as the DLC is of good quality regardless of the whole Aliens thing; however, my trust in them did take a pretty big hit due to Aliens.

We know this next DLC will be awesome. They made it with Aliens' money :)

On a serious note, the dlc thus far has been pointless without a level cap. I have the season pass and won't bother with any of it until the cap.

This isn't sooner than expected. People wanted it with an early DLC pack. Pretty sure he said late March/early April timeline for a cap increase back in January.

I'm going to go with no. Because he sure didn't sound like they are even working on it. As it stats that would be a lot of work. So by not saying no, it doesn't kill could be sells numbers of the DLC before it's even out.

Sounds like a big assumption to me. Nothing he said sounded like sooner than later. Sounds like he has no idea.

From comments he made before all the A:CM's crap, they seemed worried that implementing a level cap could potentiality break the game. Im not altogether sure why it wasnt worked out before the game released - never mind the DLC.

I agree the game should have been made from the start to have rised level caps.

I in the other hand have been playing Borderlands 2 with all the characters and I don't really get bored of it. After I hit 50 with my Commando, I did quests for witty dialogue, jokes and the rewards. I still have Gaige, Salvador and Maya to go. Honestly, even though I'd be stuck on lvl 50 forever, but always had good quests to do, I could keep going on.
