NE: "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 won’t be hitting Wii U – at least for the foreseeable future. But it has nothing to do with budget constraints, as some reports have suggested."
O so basically Wii U owners and Nintendo are getting screwed by this company. Wow, sad and pathetic to say the least.
How is getting screwed if they haven't even started developing on the WiiU to begin with? If they start now the wii U owners would end up with a terrible port or their version would be release next year or somewhere down the line. Either way neither option isn't good and some people would still complain. ------- @herb There's been plenty of Castlevania games that never nintendo consoles. I guess Konami screwed their fanbase as well? Also MercurySteam is still coming out Mirrors of Fate for the 3DS so I wouldn't say the fanbase is getting screwed.
Well according to gamefaqs and even Nintendo, they stated that Castlevania LOS 2 was coming out on their, and they even had a specific date assigned there. I think of it like this. If I was thinking of getting a Nintendo Wii U just for LOS 2, and then I read this article, of course I wouldn't buy a Nintendo Wii U, and in the end the problem would be that Nintendo had one less console they sold, which would put them behind on the race. I'm thinking of it in the long run, not in the short. You might not agree, nor do you need to, I just can't say that I don't feel bad for Nintendo right now in a sense.
Wii U is like that system you buy as an accessory to your PC, PS3 or 360. YOu shouldn't be depending on them for 3rd party content.
Thanks Mercury Steam Castlevania was born on a Nintendo console as well as the original fanbase but apparently you don't give two shits about that. Wii U owners are starved for content right now and Im sure if the effort was made you cheap fucks would have at least broke even initially and most likely profited in the long run.
If they felt like they would have turned a profit than they would have absolutely made the game for Wii U. They are in the business to make money. They will go where the money is. Disagrees= The amount of people who dont understand business.
There is alot more to good long term business than just initial profit aasswells.
The prime idea of a business is to make money. I'm pretty sure if MercurySteam was greedy(Crapcom and EA greedy) they would've just cancel the PC version of LoS2. On top of that cancel Mirrors of Fate for the 3DS and ported it to the PS3&360,Steam or even mobile platforms. Its not like they had resources and didn't use them or even started development on the wiiU just canned in favor of the PS3 or 360. This is what some of you guys are acting like happen. If they started development on the WiiU right now and told you the game wouldn't be finish until two more years would buy it and how copies do think it would sale after being on two other platforms two years prior? Oh btw that wasn't me that hit the disagree. By the time I enter my first comment you already had 3 agrees and 1 disagree.
Dude in Econ 102 you learn that if you don't have products being sold for it, you get less demand, it's a substitute, and you are saying you know how business works? That honestly makes little to no sense.
Its not like this hasnt happened before or anything. Remember this game. http://www.tustrucos.com/wp... O.O http://gamerinvestments.com...
I think that a game like LoS 2 on the WiiU would have done great, especially considering they had a big gap where the gamers had little to play, and a major franchise like Castlevania would have been a good option for the 3+ million installed base. If they're hoping people will buy their games when Zelda, Smash Bros, Monster Hunter, X, etc are out they'll be disappointed. They had their chance and blew it.
and to think i was going to buy Mercury Steam next game CONTRA not now.
Will WiiU owners stop begging for ports?
