Videogames are Scary: Interactive Horror and Tension

Henry Arrambide of 8bitfix writes: I’ve always thought that videogames have the potential to pull off the horror genre the best out of any medium.

I mean sure, I love The Shining, The Exorcist, David Cronenberg and The Thing and all of those wonderful movies, as well as the works of H. P. Lovecraft and American Psycho and just a whole slew of horror books and films, but gaming adds something to the mix: choice. (Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, PC, PS3, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 4, Xbox 360)
