Farm 51 developing Deadfall Adventures for PC and Xbox 360

Nordic Games and The Farm 51 have announced Deadfall Adventures, an action adventure game that mixes first person shooter experiences with puzzle-solving and exploration, taking players to many different locations across the globe.

In Deadfall Adventures the year is 1938 and main protagonist James Lee Quatermain isn't all too keen on escorting Jennifer Goodwin, a US agent and former colleague of his, to an Egyptian temple complex in order to retrieve an ancient artifact - The Heart of Atlantis. Quatermain doesn't care about the qualities of this artifact, nor does he care that a division of the Ahnenerbe, the Nazi department specialized in the occult, is after The Heart as well.

Nice to see an fps in a different setting rather than Sci-Fi or some war.

couldn't agree more, I prefer shooters like BioShock & The Darkness over any straight forward military type shooter.

Glad to see the first comment isn't some lame person downplaying what looks to be a fun and good looking game.

Love the ideas and setting.

Industries need more games likes this, rather then shooters, even though I love them, it always nice to go on an adventure.

@WrAiTh Sp3cTr3
I'm open to all types of games. And I'm the type that likes to try a game out if it interest me before I go criticizing it. That's how you find those hidden gems ;)

This sounds very interesting. I'm a fan of Indiana Jones adventure, artifact collecting, and globe trekking type story. If done right this could be a huge thing for FPS game.

Looks interesting, but I'll see how development goes.

Nordic Games is really hit and miss as a publisher. Being that they are the ones that oversee and support development for their games, well, again, we'll see how this goes.

I'm unfamiliar with them, what other things have they published/produced?

SlapHappyJesus1214d ago

Spellforce, the bastardization of the Gothic series that was Arcania, the lackluster Painkiller Sequels and a heap of pc and wii shovelware that no one has really heard of. They do offer region specific distribution on a few rather good titles though. Though that is different than publishing the development of a game itself.
You might have heard of other publishers like Dreamcatcher or Jowood. They seem to be closely tied, though I am not entirely sure of the relationship between them. Very well could just be different names for the same company, dependent on the area they are located.

When I say hit and miss ... it's mostly miss. This one still shows some promise though, at least in terms of an interesting setting. Not much is known of the game. I won't damn it until I see some actual gameplay though.
