74% of Gamers Don't See the Point of Wii Mini

Nothing like some controversial survey to drum up attention to your coupon site, eh? Voucher Codes Pro claims to have conducted a survey, stating that 74% of UK consumers don't understand the point of Nintendo's new smaller version of the Wii. (Wii, Wii mini)

It a pirate-free console
Wouldn't recommend it (no online service).

I sure as hell don't see the point of it... Much better off just getting a regular Wii.

I know I don't see a point to it; I own a Wii and it is pretty mini compared with other consoles as is.

Wii already was pretty much Mini at launch.
Baka-akaB  +   600d ago
The wii was already barebones in looks and content as is ...

Should be a lot higher.

- No online (which means no VC/WiiWare/Netflix/Hulu/Online play)
- Only 1 USB port
- No GameCube support
- No SD card slot
- No component/s-video support

There's really no point to it. Add a little extra and get a normal Wii if you want one :/

at that price i'd get a used Wii better

Not only don't I see the point of Wii mini. I also don't see the point of Wii, or Wii-U (esp the latter).

Time to build a proper console and stop fucking about Nintendo.

And why doesn't Nintendo invest the Wii Minis R&D on the Wii U instead?

There's no real point to the Wii Mini.

look at the freaking console, damn it
there's nothing spent on R&D for THAT! they just stripped out everything except the very basic Wii functionality and just pray for the retards to buy it!

I missed out on the Wii games this gen and would love to play them, the pricing for the Wii Mini is pretty good and I couldn't really care less about online and piracy so its not such a terrible deal.

However, Wii U has got some great games coming out for it this year so think I'll take the double hit and just buy a Wii U and all the Wii games I missed for it.

£85 to play the Wii games...or
£300 to play the Wii games and new Wii U games when they're out.
Jadedz  +   600d ago
Yep
I recommend the Wii U for those who want to play Wii/U software (Wii accessories also function with the Wii U).
CaptainN  +   600d ago
Um people are stupid that's why....its cheaper to produce, which means even more profit for Nintendo....that is why it exist.
HarryMasonHerpderp  +   600d ago
What's the point in making something cheaper to produce if no ones going to buy it?
Complete waste of money if you ask me.
CaptainN  +   600d ago
Well obviously people are still buying Wii's that's the point, and since it has only been out in Canada, and considering they sold 35,700 so far I would think that was what they were looking for!

I'm shocked that people are still buying wii's to be honest.

I definitely wouldn't buy one. The only reason I can see for ANYONE to buy one is that it would work great for a portable console, seeing as it's only a little larger than a CD player.
Jek_Porkins  +   600d ago
It's an impulse buy at $99, parents might buy it as an alternative to something more expensive, people who don't care about internet services might want to take advantage of a low price and a huge library of games.
