ZombiU review: Dying, the game [SideQuesting]

Dali Dimovski of SideQuesting.com writes:

"ZombiU is as close to a “real life” zombie apocalypse as there perhaps has ever been in action games, reflecting what it would actually be like to try and survive an outbreak — permadeath and all, for better or worse."

5 out of 5?
sry but a game with broken melee, same 4-5 recycled zombie skinsthrough the whole game, clunky environment interaction, combat can get repetitive and boring in single encounters, campaign suffers from a LOT of padding and weak third act and the game have an overall unpolished feel to it.

the concept of killing your zombi to get your stuff back is neat, but its take more than that to make a good game.

sry but ZombiU is far, very VERY FAR to be a perfect 5/5 game, thats a delusional score.

So realistic now= perfect score?!??
Is dinner dash realistic enough to get a perfect score as well?? LOL!

Personally, I prefer realistic graphics over realistic gameplay, cause let's face it, reality can get boring which is why people watch movies and play video Games!

admiralvic4068d ago

While this is certainly true (real life can get boring), it can also be fun trying to experience said event too. I mean we're talking about Zombie Survival, not cleaning the house or studying for school. So just like it can be fun to an unrealistic game, it can also be fun to see IF you can in fact survive a zombie apoc.

doesnt sound like you even own this game or played it

PeaSFor4068d ago (Edited 4068d ago )

one of the game i got for my wii u and cleared it in 2 days then traded it.

do you have at least something to say about the game or you sent this message as a defence mechanisms? is there something in my post you dont agree with?

paul19744068d ago

I thought the review was spot on! this is as explained how the game is and how it should be played and enjoyed! I love this game myself! it is scary, gets you on edge and at times makes you want to put it away as to the fear of losing your character you invested so much time in!!

I was sad to see some reviews on gamespot because people did not give it time or expected something else! I advise people to watch his video and give this game a go and learn it and then love it.

Zombi U is a great game, but 5/5? That would mean its perfect? I don't think so. I would give it a 4/5 or 8/10. Also this game is not for everyone, you have to have patients. This is the most realistic Zombi game out there, but multiplayer could have been allot better. I said it moths ago I really like it, but one of my friends hates it. Since back then a few other friends picked up Wii U, and 2 of them like it and one of em hates it???!!!!???? go figure.

Contrary to popular belief, a perfect score doesn't automatically mean the game is perfect, it just means the flaws are so few / minor that they can be overlooked. While I don't agree with the score (way too many people agree it's average for me to believe otherwise), it probably got "fluff" points for catering to a group that is constantly losing games and on the verge of death.

kewlrats4068d ago

Exactly right, and exactly why I gave it the score I did. It has flaws, but it's still a terrific game, and my experience with it was highly memorable.

Philoctetes4068d ago

5/5 doesn't mean "perfect." It means a very, very good top-shelf game. That's all.

mamotte4068d ago

"this game is not for everyone"

Actually, no game is for everyone. So, according to you, 10/10 doesnt exist.

banditscout4068d ago

While not the most polished game I've played recently, I don't feel hesitant in saying that Zombi U was absolutely one of my favorite games of 2012. This game is a love letter to the old school survival horror fans out there. If you enjoyed the original Resident Evil games, you'll probably love Zombi U.

The title says the criteria was explicitly written to mention Eternal Darkness. I am happy to see House of the Dead: OVERKILL on here. With the rise of Grindhouse themes in the 2010s, (ie WET), this was one that was both entertaining and camp funny.

Would be nice to see a new Zombie game set in the UK again, some of the landmarks, old architecture and the like really fits in well with the genre.
