Watch Dogs Engine Won't Be Plagued By AnvilNext's Engine Performance Issues

DSOGaming writes: "A couple of days ago, we informed you about the new engine that will be powering Watch Dogs, the Disrupt engine. Naturally, what came to our mind was that the Disrupt engine would be an evolution of the AnvilNext engine, the engine used in Assassin’s Creed III. Therefore, we decided to ask Sebastien Viard, Technical Director on Watch Dogs, about it and whether this engine would be plagued by the same performance issues we’ve encountered in Assassin’s Creed III."

Assassin's Creed 3 was fine. No issues.

ran like crap. On consoles the framerate was often in the teens, on my pc it was only between 30-40 fps. THe older games were much better performance wise.

at launch and for about a month, AC3 ran at 5fps in towns for me even though I have a high end PC and tried everything, even setting reso to as low as possible. The game was really glitchy on PC.

Oh, perhaps I was having way too much fun to notice any frame rate problems.

The game ran fine for me. I didn't have any issue playing it. If it were unplayable, I would've definitely noticed.

My biggest problem with AnvilNext was framerate that dipped a lot during intense moments i.e, during explosions and huge battles.
