Sony didn’t actually show us the PS4’s casing... So what?

ARS: I have to take Sony's side. Compared to the things the company actually announced during the conference—decently detailed hardware specs, live gameplay and engine demos, game and partnership announcements—what the console actually looks like seems relatively unimportant. It would have been one thing if the casing's no-show came after a press conference that was nothing but a string of buzzwordy promises with no actual content or announcements to back them up, but that's not what happened.

Do really need anymore of these damage control articles making excuses on why Sony didn't show *NOT* one hardware prototype?

Damage control? Excuses?

You say that as if it was such a bad thing. Not showing everything in one day was smart. They'll have more to unveil at E3 and I personally can't wait.

What was damaged?

OT
Styling and agreeing about the console design itself is a tedious process lots of agreement and disagreements ...and you can not rush art.

and its a calculated move to have people pass on the wii U and force M$ to again rush it nextbox.

Force MS to rush? LMFAO it was MS that forced Sony to announce. Why do you think Sony had no completed hardware or a console to show? Sony using off the shelf PC parts with no r&d custom parts?

Sony knew MS have been in the works longer then Sony was. Heck MS launched their dev kits before Sony did. That means MS already had a plan as to what their 720 specs would be. Sony threw together a mid range PC because they were caught off guard, then upped their RAM when rumour was out that MS might have 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

MS are in the best position, not forced with anything. They were first to set the countdown to E3 which forced Sony to throw together a quick conference which nobody saw coming.

You couldn't be more wrong. MS are still just staying the course laughing at Sonys per mature conference. Sony didn't even have a console to show at their console reveal conference. If anything not only does MS have the stronger console since they have had the money to focus on R&D but MS could also up the RAM at the last minute just like Sony did.

I still think Sony is over promising and under delivering. They will NEVER be able to utilize 8GB of GDDR5 RAM with the parts they are using for their GPU and CPU. It's overkill on the RAM and will just force consumers to have to pay more for something that will never be used. Expect a RAM downgrade come launch of the PS3. Mark my words.

ROFL!

When did M$ ever come up with something original?

M$ is a reactive company since its conception.
A copycat company riding on the innovation of others to steal market share.

Xbox, on its very core, is a concept derived to copy the success of the PlayStation & stop Sony from ever dominating the living room.

An ape covered in gold is still an ape.

That is all there is to say about M$.
