Could this be the ‘Taboo’ in Metal Gear Solid:Ground Zeroes?

For those who don’t know Kojima’s new game, MGS:Ground Zeroes is “…going to be treading a lot of taboos, and a lot of mature themes that really are quite risky.” but none of us really know what these Taboo’s are. (Konami, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, PS3, Xbox 360)

Could be it, yeah. Nonetheless Kojima should release it as it is and I can tell you it'll sell like it's the bomb.

It was a really good thought about children soldiers. I don't know about sales wise though. Kojima mentioned that he would trade off sales for creativity. He's not obsessed with money, just perfection. The article is nice and I can see how the recent shootings in sandy hook and pressure from the media might make this more taboo than normal. Games are viewed negatively from people that dont play them. I translated his statement into meaning that this game will be as intense and emotional as it could be. In other words...Greatness.

Maybe its about killing Americans in the game but naw im joking i do wonder what it is.
j-blaze  +   517d ago
agreed! Kojima needn't worry about Ground Zeroes, we need mature games, also, it has his name on it, and that alone will make the game sell like crazy.. everyone knows Kojima is the best!

Sounds very right to me... don't know how they would get away with you... killing children in the game... aggressors or not.

Don't know if it's "allowed."

I personally don't equate game violence with real-world violence anyway, or movies, or literary for that matter.

Be interesting to see what controversy comes from WHATEVER the taboo actually is.

What about all that stuff with Snake and Paz?? If that wasn't taboo I don't know what is.
xBigxBossx  +   517d ago
If you played the whole game you would know that it wasn't taboo. Spoilers she's of age haha.
Good_Guy_Jamal  +   517d ago
She's 16!! And she looked 12! Thats underage where I'm from.

Spoilers

If you played through the entire game you would know she's around 24 and actually a spy for Zero. She was born in 1950 and peace walker takes place in 1974

Child soldiers are dealt with pretty heavily in metal gear solid rising. Some pretty horrible stuff happens to kids in that game lol.

Obviously this MGS is where Big Boss meets "Jack the ripper" aka Raiden .. Big Boss did have a mercenary training center in outer heaven anyways.. So whats so taboo about that???

Im starting to think some people dont know the lore of MGS and just think everything is about slavery or some kind of "Inner deep" story line..

Big boss was just trying to bring his mentor "Boss" vision to life.. Durka durka!
Allsystemgamer  +   517d ago
Unless this takes place in the late 80s early 90s that's not happenning. Jack the Ripper aka raiden was born in the 80s.

This was actually a very good article and very good possibility. Child soldiers have always been big in the MG universe. It's also definitely controversial. Recently, MGR touched pretty handily on child soldiers and controversial treatment of children.

I'm guessing its to do with child soldiers and the kid in the cage being beaten and starved. Plus from what we've seen of the Fox Engine so far, Kids seem to be pretty central. Like that image of the kid and the dog in the jungle environment.

I think something like this not only should be done it NEEDS to be done. Barriers like this need to be broken down. There are child soldiers fighting in Africa right now yet no one really touches on the subject. If someone like Kojima doesn't do this no one will. Peope need to be more aware.

You gotta be kidding me, dont tell me you dont remember all that Kony Bullsh*t that was going on earlier last year....
BlaqMagiq24  +   516d ago
That Kony bullsh*t was only talked about for a few months tops. Do you still hear about it now? No you don't. It's beacuse people are afraid to touch on the subject. It took a Youtube video to bring it to light but it left the spotlight just as quick. Yet child soldiers have been used for decades. It's treated as if it's not a serious problem and yet it's just as big as any other world problem.

How is there any doubt that this is it? The idea of Child Soldiers is like one of the worst things I can think of. I hope Kojima handles it maturely and sensitively.
