Indie developer Jonathan Blow discusses bringing his newest game, The Witness, to Wii U after PS4 exclusivity ends.
Why, wasn't really hard to figure out that it was just a timed console exclusive. This game was one of the best shown at the PS4 announcement.
Puzzle games? hmmm.. How about no?
Very close-minded of you.
Dude this isn't just a puzzle game, how can't you comprehend that ?
@dgonza40: I thought everyone has his own taste of genres, or am I wrong? Should I follow what you like maybe? Don't get me wrong, I love solving puzzles in Uncharted and Tomb Raider, but I'm not into puzzle-only games. @3-4-5 Well, according to the trailer itself and Wikipedia as well, its just a 3D puzzle game, but I'm looking forward to try it anyway when it comes out.
What?? Why is this game a timed exclusive? Since this was announced for PC like two years ago I just assumed it was multiplat on every system. Stupid moneyhats.
I'm really excited to play it, I hope alternate console owners get the chance too.
I think the developer said that the game will LAUNCH EXCLUSIVELY ON THE PS4 which usually means that later on it will release on other platforms. The good thing about this is that the 720 will get extra content because of the MS POLICY.
"This game was one of the best shown at the PS4 announcement." If Deep Down was real time then that was it for me.
It's Myst. Not that's a bad thing.
Well, I didn't see that one. But it's not a bad thing. As many people get to play promising games, the better.
Not a big deal. I will be getting this for PC anyway.
I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out the appeal of this game when it was shown at Sony's conference a few days ago. I know it's made by Jonathan Blow, I know he made Braid (which I have played), but I don't know why I should be excited about this game. What was shown looked incredibly boring to me. Can someone explain to me what this is about, what I'm missing there? :/
I just thought it looked relaxing and pretty, like Journey meets Myst. It was the game I was looking forward to the most, although, I don't know why Sony would pay for timed exclusivity... Who would buy a PS4 to play The Witness a couple months early?
The more the better, but when the dev says it's 1080p at 60Hz on PS3, then i'm definitely gonna play it like that over 720 30fps on Wii U, with toned down draw distance or something. It's still relieving to see that devs are still looking at Wii U, even if they've started developing Next gen games.
>It's still relieving to see that devs are still looking at Wii U, even if they've started developing Next gen games. Perhaps it's a bad time to tell you the Wii U is next gen.
Only by release timeframe. Otherwise, it is a generation behind the PS4.
Wouldn't surprise me. Looked like a good game
WHY? that would be a bad idea to allow Nintendo to ruin the games existence after it has been on the PS4, i mean the only thing that the Nintendo would do is use that stupid touchpad as a second screen and have poor graphics to follow it. so i ask WHY
@doublejj If Nintendo were a race, I'd call you racist.
this comment made me laugh as they are only mere opinions and words. and if Nintendo were a race they would be wiped clean off the planet and shipped to mars or something cause Nintendo the company is not the problem its what they brought out the ShitU that's the problem.
I'm noticing a bit of a correlation here. Remember back when the Wii and PS3 were coming out and the gaming media was doing that "Xbox Wii60" thing? I'm starting to see that a little bit now but instead with the Wii U and PS4. I've seen a number of gamers say they're sticking to their PCs, PS4 and Wii Us, but few times have I seen people talk about the Nextbox (not to say there is no one interested in the new machine).
I've noticed that too, especially since I'm one of those people that switched their stance. At the start of last gen I was all about the Wii60 combo. The PS3 was just so expensive and the "get a second job" comment wasn't funny to a guy studying his a** off in college with all money going to tuition (and beer). Also Halo was the college student's national past time. But, now that we're at the end of the generation, I find myself much more fond of the PS3. Some amazing first party games, free online, and no region lock. Sony just seems more gamer focused than Microsoft, to me anyway. So I'll be going with the Wii U/PS4 combo. I'd be curious to hear why someone would go for the next Xbox unless it's drastically less expensive or they are big Halo fans.
game was a mini-game maze hub
Keep it... The devs sounds arrogant like his game is all that. I will take Shin'en Multimedia next game I know they will take advantage of the hardware... And they already confirmed their next game would feature tesselation.
