Nintendo Says Innovation Is Important For New Super Mario Bros, But It Can’t Destroy The Fun

IGN has recently been granted the opportunity to sit down with New Super Mario Bros U director Masataka Takemoto and producer Takashi Tezuka. Takemoto told the publication that innovation is vital for the popular series, but it shouldn’t destroy any of the fun that the series is renowned for. (3DS, New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo, Wii U)

Just add new power ups, stages, boss battles, etc thru dlc so they dont need to make any more of them.. The formula will get stale if they keep making these with full retail price tags

The New Super Mario Bros. series can do just fine as physical games. NSMBU was successful, was it not? They're even providing an entirely new DLC campaign with new levels and from what I understand it's a single player alternative to NSMBU's cooperatively centric gameplay.

it was successful but im saying it will dry out if they keep doing the same thing over n over again.. 3DS version is probably the most successful one & the wii u version is the least due to the smallest install base im sure.. People arent going to keep buying the same game with new stages n powerups for too long tho

Do you live to belittle Nintendo?

There are certainly more unique changes to new games that star Mario than there are in Killzone, God of War and Halo.

they already lost me as a nintento-title-buyer. all their titles they pushed out for the 3ds were very stall and shockingly boring for someone who played a videogame before. the same directions seems to be on the wii u looking at their launch-mario-title.
as a consequence, i will get another installment of a galaxy u but that was about it from my side giving money for their subpar-stuff. good luck, nintendo.
