Randy Pitchford says that sales figures aren’t the only thing the developer is looking for after some fans debated whether or not “Borderlands” was Gearbox Software’s only successful franchise following the recent controversy surrounding “Aliens: Colonial Marines.” The President of Gearbox Software said, "Sales are nice, but we exist to gratify and entertain and we always learn something when we fail to impress some customers."
"...we exist to gratify and entertain..."
...which is totally hypocritical considering ACM. If sales aren't everything you'd think they'd have spent the last year 'completing' ACM instead of developing a fake-gameplay trailer and jamming the real game out the door.
Non-flop - Thanks for teh support guys
Flop - Sales don't mean shit to us!!
Apparently, neither is quality.
Doesn't justify what happen A:CM. You can keep coming up with excuses/pointless statements or you can try to fix the problem.
Superman 64. O_O
"we always learn something when we fail to impress some customers."
There was nothing to learn from that . At least not that you didnt already knew .
You tried a Con and it's massively failing
Apparently neither is truth, integrity and respect for your consumers.
However when your game is total crap, mis advertised, and full of excuses as to why its crap.... well sales are all you have left.

at around 0:59 he shows up and spouts nonsense.
Sony probably didn't wanna show his name and tarnish the ps4's image due to the recent Aliens fiasco. The guy is a clown.
Randy instead of making pathetic excuses and wasting your time and everyone elses for ACM.
Why don't you use it to make a patch for ACM to make it the game it should have been.
Some GOOD DLC might make us people who bought the game feel a little better.
As you are not worried about sales or profit maybe you can make the first one Free.
Why was the funding not made available to develop this game to its full potential it's a crying shame.
There is an old saying "Concentrate on the Job in hand" which Gearbox did not when making ACM.
To busy making extra characters for BL2 was it.
This could have been the game of the year and Gearbox blew it.
So do the decent thing and make it right or are you to busy counting all the money you made from Borderlands 2 ?
I wonder how many people will buy your next game you bring out after the way you have handled ACM.
Randy needs to stop the communication about this game all together as all he is doing is rubbing salt in the wound. Then he needs to pray that SEGA does not sue his a## off for misappropriating funds from ACM development into Borderlands 1 & 2 development, because I bet the papertrail is everyway as Pitchford doesn't seem that bright.
SEGA contact me as I am a CFE in the Dallas Metroplex area. I would be happy to perform a Fraud Exam for you.
