5 Reasons Why the Playstation Meeting Was Unforgettable

The Playstation Meeting 2013 is over. Some may consider the event a mixed bag of emotions. Some fans were left happy while others were not. In the end though, nobody can doubt its memorability. Here are five reason why the Playstation Meeting was unforgettable and how it will shape the future of Sony. (PS4, Sony)

"While the announcement is great, the principles behind the system are even more important."

I 100% agree with this. While some may have thought Sony were just throwing around big words, there was a sense that these words had a real world impact on the development of the console itself.

Immediacy was one of those words and we can see from some of the features of PS4, i.e instant boot/game state saving and playing a game before it's downloaded, that Sony is not just blowing hot air.

They managed to clearly define their focus and, as a gamer, put my mind at ease with the direction of the Playstation brand as a gaming platform first and foremost.

The 'killer-app' games will come inevitably but for now I'm happy that Playstation 4 will be a great piece of kit with the gamer at the heart of the system.

Glad someone agrees with me. The focus on the developers making the games for the consumers is BIG. Especially with Sony's past of supporting developers.

It will be very interesting to see what Microsoft does now that both are equally set on the developer front. Well, that is as long as their next console is equally simple to make product for.

It really reminds me of the early years of Playstation, when Sony won over the hearts of developers and took those first few steps into the industry.

this is strong statement that you made and i whole heartedly agree that Sony is going in the right direction and i don't see them looking forward to mistakes and running into the same problems that they had with the PS3 even though the PS3 is still selling, the gaming world needs this going forward and the developers and gamers are hand in hand and we all need each other in the community of Sony. Sony needs gamers gamers need games and the games need the development teams to make them for us to play and Sony also needs the online community to utilize the online function of gameplay so its a circle of game life and we are all in the loop of what is about to come from Sony.

At the end of the day we're all here because we share a common love for games.

As of right now Sony seems to be leading in that department so therefor i will be purchasing a ps4 first.

Because they didnt show the console

LOL

Hey its true the press remembers more about the lack of a physical console at the event than all the games that they showed. Heck many trolls are using this as ammunition in their pathetic comments.

Cuz of Killzone. That was all I needed to see. If it's a launch title, that'll make the PS4 the first home console I've ever gotten AT launch.

Come Get YOU Some!
