Link of "Legend of Zelda' fame joins other gaming stars in gender bending series

n a return of The Gaming Sketch original video game inspired art series, the Console Game Examiner is kicking off a collection of gender bending game character artworks with an original piece featuring "The Legend of Zelda's" own hero, Link. Considering many non-gamers believe the hero in the green tunic is Zelda himself as they think he must be the title's namesake, its an easy stretch to see a female version of Link. (Culture)

Am I the only one who would not mind a LoZ where Link was a girl and Zelda was a guy? It'd be weird, yeah, but I wouldn't mind Link being portrayed as female. It would be an interesting contrast to other stories, I think.

Though I'm not sure if it can work given that I've now read the origin manga in Hyrule Historia. Thoughts anyone?

It's said that only a girl of royal blood ( aka the blood line of the first Zelda ->skyward sword ) is to have the power of wisdom.

What I want from Nintendo is a "Zelda" game where you play as the sheikah. A game that has Zelda Core elements ( dungeons/items/ puzzles ) but with a more indepth fighting mechanic ( after all; Sheikahs know some ninja stuff ).
Where Zelda needs no saving, but sends you on a quest to whatever seems to be troubling the land ruled by the royal family.

Would be more bad-ass if Link was adopted by Ganondorf(or the reincarnation) as a kid and made him believe he is his biological father. Prince of darkness and his heir to the throne. Where the triforce of Power and Courage are bonded together. And perhaps you play as Zelda...who can transform into a sheikah...THE POSSIBILITIES.

That is an AWESOME idea. I'd really like to see a game like that too.
