This is actually good. I hope they get that good!

its not that they are not skilled...but its ND freestyle development culture and synergy that simply wont work for any other dev group.

"We have our own culture,"

We don't want to create a process at Naughty Dog - we want people to have as much freedom as they can. But you will make mistakes, you will have to iterate, but you're going to have to fail again and again and again."

"SCEA's a great environment to work in, and they acquired us in 2000, and they've never tried to change the way we work," says Wells. "I guarantee you that if we tried to fit our style, to make a game in the way that other studios were required to by their publisher, we'd fail, absolutely. Likewise, if someone tried to adopt our techniques, they wouldn't be able to do it either."

I really couldn't get into their Castlevania game

Lords of shadow? Nah, me neither

But at least they're ambitious lol

I'm playing it now.

Brutal, but rewarding.

It can be frustrating, and hard work, but I'm enjoying it.

In fact, I played the first chapter of Metal Gear Rising, then ejected it and fired up Lords of Shadow.

You have a LONG, LONG, LONG way to go

For starters, LoS had a nightmarish framerate.

More importantly, while LoS was good, it's like, their only game that wasn't mediocre.

As long as they keep working hard, they'll get there. Lords of shadows was amazing.

Wow, people seem to forget how fantastic Lords of Shadow was. I mean, jeez, it's not like it's Hammerpoint saying this.

Honestly, I don't think they have all that far too go. Like cochise said, as long as they continue working hard and don't gloss over any of the game's problems, it could very much be a game as good as Uncharted (and that's high praise coming from someone who lists Uncharted 2 as one of his top 5 games ever).
