With the recent news in the video game world regarding the PS4 and Nintendo games, the question becomes what will E3 have left in the tank come June?
There's Microsoft and its Next Xbox.
If I was a fan of Microsoft, and I'm not saying I'm not, I would need more details about the next system before I felt confident about what direction they were headed. I doubt Microsoft will wait till E3 to reveal details on the next Xbox so the eventual reveal will take a little away from E3.
I think/hope this E3 will be amazing. We'll have Sony and MS showing new hardware trying to steal one another's thunder, and Nintendo will be showing some games for the Wii U, knowing that they have to impress too since everyone will be oohing over the tech specs of the other two. Plus EA, Ubi and Konami have their press conferences to show what their plans are for next gen. I love E3... it's my least productive week at work.
Yeah...I guess there's the new Kinect integrated Xbox yet to see...oh, and maybe a Halo game for the Xbox. On Sony's side of things well most likely see: - a Naughty Dog game - a Sony Santa Monica game - a Team Ico game - a Polyphony Digital game - the PS4 Console - new games for the Vita - maybe something exclusive from Kojima? - based on that fella from Capcom saying that everyone should be excited for E3, maybe something exclusive to PS3 from Capcom? An exclusive Street fighter would be sweet! For Nintendo, I think their show will entail the lights being out with the sounds of crickets in the night.
Did you not see that Sony had motion sensor integrated into their system as well? I mean theres a huge light at the tip of the controller just for that feature. Dont act like Sony isnt jumping on that bandwagon either. There have been so may people who have posted the dev teams Microsoft has working on undisclosed games and they were listed as kinect or not. It's longer than the list you made. United States 343 Industries – Halo series - (2 team studio - Concurrent development of Halo 4 and co-development of Halo Anniversary) Connected Experiences – Untitled Project – Design Large scale multiplayer title and help other first party studios Good Science Studio – Kinect Adventures, Kinect Fun Labs Kids and Lifestyle Entertainment – Next generation fitness project Microsoft Studios – Los Angeles – Next generation core cinematic title Microsoft Studios – Mobile Gaming – ilomilo Microsoft Studios – Redmond Publishing – Overseeing and co-developing multiple projects in conjunction with third party development studios Platform Next Studios – Next generation core title Playful Learning – Next generation family project Skybox Sports – Next generation sports project Turn 10 Studios – Forza Motorsport series - (2 team studio - Concurrent development of Forza Motorsports 4 and co-development of Forza Horizon) Twisted Pixel Games – The Gunstringer, LocoCycle - (2 team studio - Concurrent development of Ms. 'Splosion Man and The Gunstringer) Xbox Live Productions – South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!, South Park: Tenorman's Revenge, Avatar Kinect Europe Lionhead Studios – Fable series, Black & White series, Unannounced MMO-like New IP - (2 team studio - Concurrent development of Fable: The Journey, Fable Heroes and an unannounced next generation title) Lift London – Multiple Cloud Based gaming projects Rare Ltd. – Banjo-Kazooie series, Viva Piñata, Perfect Dark series, Kinect Sports series- (3 team studio - Concurrent development of various titles) Soho Productions – Kinect Sesame Street TV Press Play – Untitled Project Canada BigPark – Joy Ride series, Kinect Sports: Season Two Black Tusk Studios – Untitled Project - (an unannounced next generation title) Microsoft Studios Victoria – Untitled Project Your list with Sony follows-- -Naughty Dog- Uncharted -Sony Santa Monica- GOW -Polyphony ONLY MAKES GT -new games for an underperforming Vita -Kojimas next MGS is multiplatform -Capcom-exclusive? Your really grasping for straws there. They will NOT lose money going exclusive especially not with street fighter. It makes no business sense. Nintendo will have something for their fans...even if you dont agree.
@theWB27 As much as it pains me to link to Kockatoo... http://m.kotaku.com/5985794... Both consoles will have tons of games, but Sony owns more first party studios so I expect them to have a better showing over time.
Still more games, hopefully
This. Sony was smart in glazing over the features and showing some games. At E3 they can go into detail, like showing the features working in real time, without repeating the same information at yesterdays conference. After that you can bet we'll see games. Both launch games and future tittles like Naughty Dog's new game or maybe Gran Turismo. E3 is where it's going to go down, which is exciting because we haven't had an E3 like this in a long time.
Good article, It touches on the questions I have about what we're possibly seeing at E3 2013.
thanks. glad it was to your liking. I don't want Microsoft fans to think I slighted the system but we just don't know that much about their plans yet.
Makes sense, normally it would be Tit for Tat with these announcements but Microsoft is playing it cool. We might hear something at GDC.
Games, games and a lot more games. At least one would hope.
a sega dreamcast 2 ....... i wish
Keep the dream alive man.
3D Mario by Team Galaxy Smash Bros 4 Retro Studios (Metroid Prime 4 or Star Fox) X by MonolithSoft Zelda Wind Waker remake Bayonetta 2 Mario Kart Wii U Yarn Yoshi Shin Megami X Fire Emblem and Pokemon XY Best Nintendo E3 lineup ever? By far.
Mario Kart WiiU and Bayonetta. Nintendo shows that and they can call E3 a success.
I'm hoping for a good Nintendo & Sony games to be unveiled ..especially I would like 2 new Metroids.. one for 3ds other for Wii U
E3 will be big this year.
Nintendo has a big opportunity this year. The sheer amount of people blowing them off for E3 this year could lay the groundwork for something special. If I'm Nintendo, I want people to patronize/downplay us going into E3. They should then try and organize that one mega announcement that would turn heads. In the 2 years since the Wii U's announcement, we only know about/have 2D Mario, Pikmin, 3D Mario, MK, Smash, and Zelda. The last 4 of which haven't been seen. There's a lot of room for unexpected surprises.
I think it will be one of the best E3's in recent times. all three console makers showing new hardware and games, plus all the new 3rd party stuff. What's not to like.
it will let us know what steam will offer and what nintendo has up its sleave because its in between those two for the winner of next generation
