For $1000 you should get 5 Free Games of your choice!

This card is just too much overkill. Right now you are not gonna find a game to push this card to the limit. I'd much rather get a much, much more affordable AMD HD radeon 7970, which can handle any game at high settings.

At this point i would urge people not to upgrade.

That is because the next consoles will be out soon. Games will finally be getting a jump in graphics quality. Hence it will be advisable to buy parts that are more powerful than the next consoles.

Since then you can enjoy those parts for another 4-5 years with no upgrades and constantly keep maxing out games (since games are made with consoles as the lowest denominator).

Any mid range GPU should be fine around the time consoles do launch, as they will be way more powerful than console hardware.

Decrypt, My old 955BE with its 6870 is more powerful than the ps4.

Consoles are a complete joke.

ill stick with my 2 680's until the 790 comes out

they hear ddr5 and they think they know about hardware. the ps4 power supply couldnt even run this card.

completely agree with you. the 8 core amd apu is similar to laptop cpu, therefore it probably won't even touch a high end i3, but at least console cpu's are used differently so it can't truly be compared. and the fact that they said "supercharged" gpu doesn't mean jack. they probably spend millions on modifying a 7770 to use less power and work in tandem with the cpu, but all the console fanboys hear supercharged and gddr5. good god these people know nothing on hardware yet they act like it. oh and that killzone shadow fall demo may have been running 30 or 60 fps, but the resolution was definetly below 1080p

"oh and that killzone shadow fall demo may have been running 30 or 60 fps, but the resolution was definetly below 1080p"

Its not about the resolutions. But about the actual graphics themselves.

chcolatesnw1251d ago

you're right, not aobut res. lets get us some 320x240 killzone 4 with maxed out settings at 120fps on 120hz tvs. see how good it looks. if you knew anything about pc gaming is if someone was not able to get max resolution and max graphics settings, they would sacrifice the max settings and run at medium with max resolution (say 1080p or 1440p). no pc gamer would run a game at 720p with max settings instead of 1080p with medium settings. resolution makes a hell of a lot more difference then medium > high graphical options.
