???? Yes? A generation for humans is about every 10 years. Assuming your father is at least 20 years older I think everybody would say their father is a vastly different generation from them. It doesn't matter what age you are he still came from a different generation. A different culture, a different set of events that defined him..a different smash bros. that came out in his era. I come to think only one n4g user no longer knows* the meaning on 'generation'.

I consider a new generation when theres a significant jump between current gen and next.

What i mean by this is when Nintendo launched the Wii i didnt consider it to be in the same gen as the 360 and the PS3 due to its massively inferior level of technology.

But like i said many times before what a gen is to someone is completely subjective.

Assuming it is the ps4 I expect gameplay demos (not cgi or tech demos), price and date and full backward comparability of both physical ad digital ps3 software.

I think you're going to be disappointed if you think that Sony will give a price and date. And also the BC will most likely be done by Gaikai.

Idk why BC is such a major thing I still own my original PSX,PS2,and PS3. If I want to play old games I can use one of them. I cant count on one hand how may times I have actually used that feature.

I wouldn't be surprised at a date, or at least a general release time(ie. Fall). If it is that soon then expect them to also include a price so retailers can start taking pre-orders.
