"Aliens: Colonial Marines released last week to mostly negative reactions from gamers and critics, though, one particular website gave the game a glowing review and made it sound like it should be a contender for Game of The Year, if not Game of The Century." - The Games Cabin
I'm intrigued as to what people will make of this defence. I'm naturally skeptical- there just seems to be so much going wrong with, not only the review, but things that happened in the background amidst it. But, I wonder who will defend EGM? It seems somewhat difficult to do so.
1. Gave a high score so as not to burn any bridges.
2. Completely blew it off and thought it would get around mostly 6/10, 7/10 scores.
3. Decided to make readers suspicious of EGM's credibility on his way out.
4. Or he really thought is deserved a 9/10.
I would be inclined to believe 4 if it weren't for the review itself. I didn't seem to support the rating. Under the circumstances I would say the high score was for the resume more than anything else. Dumb idea to do a hard hitting review when you are going to be looking for a job.
