NCsoft Refuses to Censor Blade and Soul for the West

A recent trailer of Blade & Soul published for the west was altered a little. Fabric is added where is exposed in the Korean version. Then rumors came out that NCsoft is censoring the content of Blade and Soul. In response, NCsoft made a statement clarifying that they would never alter the actual in-game content. And all the modification above is just for promotional purposes.

The story is too old to be commented.

Yeah, even in cases where things go overboard. (Like that Nippon Ichi game Mugen Souls) Where they had a bath scene that was taken out... I pretty much didn't buy it just because of that. It's not that I WANTED the bath scene or anything, I honestly didn't care one way or another. However, I staunchly refuse to buy something that isn't what it should have been. Censoring sucks, regardless if it's as simple as a cuss word or as explicit as a full blown sex scene.

If something is created such as a game, movie, book, etc. it should be how the people who envisioned it intended no matter what.

I feel absolutely the same way. If a game or movie is cut/butchered, or missing the original language or soundtrack or whatever, I refuse to buy it.

Agreed.

And there's always room for games (such as this) with heavy emphasis on PLOT and BACKSTORY. Censorship just ruins it.

This has instantly put this game on my radar now. I am so sick and tired of mature content being censored for a few individuals that would never play the game. If the games industry wants to be taken more seriously then developers and publishers has to treat mature audience like they are actually mature and stop talking down to them. What happened with Tera was terrible, censorship wise.
