Multiplayer- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Review

MP:First sequel, then title at risk cancellation and finally spin off: Raiden carves out a space in a game all by itself. (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, PS3, Xbox 360) 8/10

$60 for a 5 hour Bayonetta rendition of mgs? More than $10 bucks an hour? No thanks. Should have put a VR mission level editor or something to lengthen the game (like LBP games, Infamous 2 or far cry's share-able User Generated/Created levels). I think i'll wait for Ground Zeroes (which Kojima said will be huge, dozens of hours more than even Peace Walker; traditional mix of stealth and action; GOOD storytelling; and Multiplayer).

Sorry but Rising might get a rental at best. I like my $60 games to last more than a week, with even more replay.

I hope the time spent making this game didn't slow down Ground Zeroes production -_-

i dont think it would unless kojima handed ground zeroes to platinum games.

What?

Hoooooooooooow?

Kojima's team is working on ground zeroes, platinum worked on rising

All Kojima does is check up on it

If you don't like hack n slash, thats fine... but stop acting like somehow rising is ruining ground zeroes..

Also Platinum games are meant to be replayed multiple times... so that 5 hour game ends up giving you 25 hours.

Especially when rising was in the works way before GZ

It's a bit longer than you might think, since the time in cutscenes aren't counted in the game.

Cutscenes =/= gameplay.

Look, I hear what your saying: even MGS 4 was short too. But at least mgo kept me entertained for a very long time. Plus the animal/big boss rankings kept me replaying the campaign. But Reveangance, it needs something to make me replay it for weeks. Times are rough, $60 needs to stretch the game a bit more. Multiplayer in rising would likely be idiotic, but VR mission level editor would keep game fresh for much longer. I would get it if it had something to keep it going for more than a week or two, know what I mean?

The game has been proven to be 8-10 hours long and even if it was 5 hours there are multiple difficulties and VR Missions to hold you over for a good amount of time. Not every game has to have RPG length.

Logic dictates that If this game was 5 hours long this score would either A) lower than an 8 or B) shows how good the mechanics are because they override the 5 hour experience. BUT why bother using logic on the Internet right?
GamingBuddha09  +   576d ago
in other words other kojima only over saw things things, not of his people at kojima productions worked on rising other than giving platinum games already made assist. so it wounldnt hinder progress of ground zeroes

Well i can tell you guys that the 7+ hours i pass playing this MGR game were much better than the 4+hours i pass playing the ultra hype, techical crap, good looking but not marvellous Crysis 3!If there is a game that do not deserve been brought for $60 if chosen between this two you know what it is this month!!Single player tested on the two titles.Havent finnish yet Crisis 3 and i probably will not because the framerate on the console im playing is just terrible. On the other hand MGR framerate is very smooth, and the game is very enjoyable for a hack and slash game!
