Why Gaming Needs PlayStation 4

PlayStation 4 is exactly what the video game industry needs right now. The pressure is on Sony to restore the faith its consumers are lacking, and to reaffirm the power of a brand that was once synonymous with the very medium itself. It needs to lead once again. And if it can do that, if PlayStation 4 can get the world excited about video games once more, then everyone wins.

It will be no surprise if we play World of Warcraft, DOTA or Diablo online on PS4. And Steam Box holds the clue.

kEEP DREAMING WITH wow, their main income its from subcriber and they have 10 million, count me in Im a member. I hope Sony comes up with something great, but knowing them DRM and faulty hardware will be their next move. I only own a PS3, but all my sony product has been faulty, ps1 upside down read disk, ps2 blue screen and bad laser, ps3 ylod. I will only get a PS4, but I will wait until they fix the hardware.

@miyamoto: Do you honestly think that? DOTA 2 is the only game that's actually on Steam.
Don't get me wrong. I'm the first one who thinks X-platform-gaming may be great, but there are some technical difficulties and some difficulties in many heads that stand between the platforms.

If it's announced, I'm happy.. But sad I can't afford it.

Plus I have a PS3 from Christmas 09. Still too early. I'd be guilty for cheating on my PS3 ;3

Nintendo brought the casuals into this industry.

Which could be seen as a blessing or a curse.

In my opinion they almost caused a second crash with the Wii U but thankfully both Sony and Microsoft will save the market from the casuals.

PC on the other hand lives in its separate little world which is fantastic for those people who can afford a good rig. Im dying to play guild wars 2 though.

i'm very excited for PS4, it's a day one for me, hoping Sony bring back the awesome ps2 days with more Japanese games support, but if it's anything like ps3...eh i don't know what to say.. i'll be very very very disappointing
