PCA:This latest of oh-so-many embarrassments bearing the much-abused Aliens name was six years in development, but you'd be forgiven for thinking Aliens: Colonial Marines was churned out in six months.
Yeah it should be a masterpiece, but isn't.
Too many cooks spoilt the broth?
Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.
I wouldn't say it's a 1/5, more like 2.5
For a game to get 1/5 it has to be broken, meaning that it is filled with so much glitches it's a struggle to finish. I think people are really over reacting at the fact the game didn't live up the the expectation of the demo. There is a reason why developers write "Final product may vary" which means even if the demo is amazing the game could change from what the demo was.
The fact you can say that shows you have'nt played it yet... I quit playing the game half way through chapter 2, it's worse than you can imagine.
All sites have different meanings behind rating levels. 1/5 doesn't have to mean broken.
A friend of mine has spent 6 hours with it and says for aliens fans its worth a play through, but everyone else should stay away really. I might get it when its bargain bin around £10 or steam sale etc.
I give it a 0.5/5 thats being generous.
There is fun to be had with ACM but that isn't saying anything. Fun can be had anywhere regardless of objective quality (or lack thereof). As fun as ACM is, the objective and qualitative issues makes this game sub-par.
I've been playing the game, and have to say that a lot of these reviews are going overboard. Its by no means a 1/5 game. More like a 2.5-3. Is it the epic game I was expecting? No. But, its not an epic failure either.
I've yet to play it, but, honestly, is the game that bad? I'm just curious.
