Bungie's Destiny May Be Coming To The PC After All

DSOGaming writes: "Bungie plans to tell Destiny's adventures over a 10-year period. But what about a PC version? Surely this kind of game should be coming on our beloved platform, right? Well, all hope is not lost everyone. During the game's reveal in Bungie's Bellevue, Washington office, Bungie COO Pete Parsons said that there is a high chance that Destiny will be coming to the PC." (Destiny, PC)

I hope it has cross platform play
matrixman92  +   529d ago
in the IGN stream, they said that Bungie definitely stomped down the possibility of cross platform...but they completely dodged the question of ps3/ps4 and 360/nextbox cross play
Mainsqueeze  +   529d ago
I'm pretty sure it will have cross generation play between ps3/ps4 and 360/720. The only reason they dodged the question is because no next gen consoles have been revealed yet.

The Glorious PC Gaming Master Race!
as a Hardcore Enthusiast PC Gamer I somehow still see Microsoft paying Activision to make Destiny a Xbox Exclusive. Microsoft has already snapped up rights to get Destiny content first and when the game is complete MS may just take the next step.

Bungie = Microsoft's Exclusive studio FOREVEVR!

If Destiny does come to the PC then get in line behind all the other 100's of AAA MMO's we got coming out.

If Destiny does NOT come to the PC then it wont be missed because of all the other 100's of AAA MMO's we got coming out.

it's just that simple!

It will likely have to be separated from consoles due to the advantage of a mouse, but that's ok, PC has a huge MMO playerbase.
Best version. Because of M/K..

I like my DS3 but M/K is just better for shooting.

Hmmm unreal tournament 3 had a mouse keyboard option for ps3 version who his how I played it. So your argument don't hold water . its developers that need to implement it for ps3. Can't imagine it being to hard
Pandamobile  +   529d ago
Okay, well, UT3 was the only game to ever use that, so I don't know why you guys keep bringing that up.

if it's MMO it will be stupid to not put it in PC. there's no Piracy in MMO games

Glad to hear. I'd still love to see cross over play between xbox/ps3/4 and pc, especially since the world is supposed to develop constantly. Does this means the world will be slightly different on each platform?
Jek_Porkins  +   529d ago
From what the guy at IGN said, it wont be on PC because Bungie wants total control over the game. I wouldn't get my hopes up.
aliengmr  +   529d ago
Explain "total control". Not sure why that, in particular, would matter at all.
Jek_Porkins  +   529d ago
I believe from the different things I've read and watched today that they don't want people hacking, modding, changing things around? I guess they want total control of everything. Some developers just look at the PC market as something that they really have little to no control over.

Keep in mind that I'm not against PC, just saying what I believe and have heard.
aliengmr  +   529d ago
There are plenty of SP games on PC that are locked down. Just because its released on PC doesn't mean it can be modded. It can be severely limited to the point nobody will bother trying. MMO's offer complete control over content in a persistent world.

I doubt having control over content would be a reason not to release a game on PC. They may have other reasons for not wanting to, but I don't think that would be a reason if they are going for an MMO.

Having said that, they don't really seem all that committed to a PC version so I doubt it as well.
jay2  +   529d ago
Yep, it has to mean it's on PC.
kwyjibo  +   529d ago
Of course it's going to be on PC. Don't know why this is even questioned. Both next-gen consoles are just PCs, once the exclusivity money runs out - you'll see.
kevnb  +   529d ago
when a non exclusive shooter doesnt come to pc its probably junk. Other genres other different, but shooters not appearing on pc tells me something is wrong.
Martywren  +   529d ago
It should have in the first place.
IK IR Y IP T  +   529d ago
Doesnt matter because the game is a xbox exclusive for a whole year, you think the ps3 crowd and pc crowd are gonna wanna wait a full year then microsoft has first dibbs on the dlc as well !!

would rather play on pc, all fps are better with kb/m for me, plus, the graphics will obviously be better on pc than ps4/nextbox, with the leaked specs of those things, they look to be akin to a 3 year gaming laptop

i wanna play this beauty in 2560x1600 at 60 frames with 8x anti aliasing

not sub-1080p at 30 frames
