(GI.biz) Bungie's future rests on Destiny; we get a glimpse of what Activision calls the first "shared world shooter"
You just wait until Activision sees what you just said Bungie! You're gonna be in trouble. Lol
Yeah this is what I'm worried about. I have faith in Bungie but little in Activision. No subscription fee is great for what we're potentially getting. However, yesterday's Vidoc showed mobile phone integration and I'm worried that we might get charged for that similar to how Blizzard charges for using the Auction House app for WoW. That was only to use the auction house; in Destiny you can supposedly interact with the game by communicating with friends or even help them out. If there is only a one-off charge for the game, then that would be amazing but it just sounds too good to be true. Oh well, either way, I hope we see more of this at E3. I'm dying for some more info/gameplay.
WoW model could work on 360. It kinda already does. Activision obviously notices. Go Gold!! sONY NEEDS TO BRING PLANETSIDE 2 TO PS4.
More information please.
i doubt silver xbl users will be able to play this
I like it so far. You just buy the game like normal and that's it, no subscription (no fee at all on PS), no free-to-play with the risk of pay-to-win, and by the looks of it this will have to run on dedicated servers. But this is the developer talking, and we all know that once Bobby smells only a single coin of profit he has the power to f*ck up everything.
This is one of those concepts and ideas that I actually be willing to pay a subscription fee (Nothing too big though) for if it meant further stabilization and advancement of the experience. This is a game that I really want to succeed.
As of right now, they don't seem to be aiming for a subscription fee. As of right now, I have no reason to believe this won't be the case. If you think otherwise, well, call them out on it when when and if that actually happens.
