Am I the only one who wouldn’t mind a Wii U price cut with an ambassador program?

From NintendoEverything: After the announcement that Wii U sold but 55K units this past January, I found myself legitimately worried about the future of the console for the first time ever. I don’t mean “Oh no Nintendo is going to die and everything will be ruined!” worried, I just mean “Man, they are going to be in for another Gamecube if they don’t get their act together with this.” (Nintendo, Wii U)

What this thing does is worth $300 bucks, it just needs games and it's getting them. Need some cheese with that wine?

Actually, I got mine at launch for £150 because HMV gave away 2 games for free and I got another given to me a long with zombi U and I sold what I did not want to recoup the cash. I am a happy man.

The system is worth the money though but at most maybe £280 for premium.

Think like this the WiiU has great dual screen multimedia ie dual screen browsing with full HD video support the lot,now it's rumoured to be getting Watchdogs,Destiny,Gearbox UE4 FPS,ect that X game Beyonetta2 ect it's got some big games MonsterHunter is selling well i just think 300 dollars is cheap.

Whether it needs a price drop or not depends on the capability's of other next gen consoles and their launch price.

But i wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo does a 3DS with the Wii U in terms of a price cut.

I don't think it needs a price cut and an Ambassador Program, but I'd love it if it happened. I like free games.

I bought the Zombi U w/pro controller bundle yesterday. GREAT value in that package. The problem is, that 300 and 400 dollars is A LOT of money no matter how you shake it. You can sing about value all day, as well as truly offer it as the Wii U is doing. But unless you give people compelling reasons to spend that much money at once on gaming, you'll have issues. Only the 'hardcore' nuts like me are willing to spend that kind of money. It will be the same for Sony and MS' new offerings. We're just ending a generation where Many people bought 2 and 3 consoles. Why does the average Joe Gamer want a new console?

Nintendo/Sony/MS, all have to provide that reason, and graphics alone will convince no one but the graphics lovers who don't prefer PC, people who have money and don't mind supporting the early effort, and fanboys who are psychologically invested in the success of their favorite gaming company. All 3 of the above are relatively small in number.

*As a side note, I also wouldn't mind a price drop on the Wii U in spite of what I paid, if it helps the Wii U to catch on like the 3DS did. Nor would I mind Nintendo going aggressive with periodic price drops where they resign themselves to just breaking even until the price reaches a market deemed sweet spot.

It sucked for me at first with the 3DS. I felt a little bit slighted. But the Ambassador program was nice enough, and I resigned myself to being an early supporter since I appreciate their efforts. As will I be an early supporter of the others if the price isn't too exorbitant. I am glad I waited a couple of months though for this bundle to come to the U.S. Deluxe console, 2 games and a Pro controller for $389.99 - Not to mention the system is now already updated on the console, unlike the earliest ones.

I've found my personal sweet spot that fits well with my desire to support strong Nintendo efforts, and I assume that others like me have as well.
