A Peek At The Motion Capture Process For God of War: Ascension

Sony have shared a video that highlights the voice and motion-capture process for God of War: Ascension. Take a look at the video below, which shows off both the mocap process as well as a peek at how the animation is fine-tuned later: (God of War: Ascension, PS3)

I wasn't expecting a better looking GOW game than GOW3 this gen. Those graphics are just plain insane!

yeah i agree.......GOW:A imo will be the best looking game of this year.......even better than The Last of US.....though both will be pretty neck to neck.....

The enviroments on GOW are kind of low res, Kratos and the other characters are high res, it looks good because it's a fast paced game in which you focus on your character most of the time.

@Norrison. Bollocks, God of War III still has some of the best looking environments this generation and God of War: Ascension is a significant improvement upon that. The environments are not low res at all, in fact go watch a 'The Last of Us' gameplay demo full screen at 720p and you'll see that game has low res environments and enemy character models are noticeably low-poly. Not to mention I'm SICK of post-apocalyptic settings in games, looks generic and lacks imagination. God of War: Ascension is not only technically brilliant but has an amazingly beautiful and unique art-style which makes it so much more appealing to the eyes.

If you're judging 'work in progress' footage or blurry gameplay videos on Youtube (the first 30m demo wasn't captured at the native resolution as evidenced by the black borders around the video) then you're incompetent.

God of War: Ascension is very easily the best looking game this generation, and it runs at an average of 45fps with no screen tearing. Sony Santa Monica are wizards, they are the Gods of video game development!

Oh my god, I had no idea Troy Baker was part of the cast. It's so awesome. By the way, the guy is in GoW Ascension, Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us. Well, I guess this is going to be a pretty good year for him.
