Final Fantasy VIII’s Great Romance Is Doomed To Fail

Final Fantasy VIII is the big romance of the FF series, so it's kind of depressing that there isn't a hope in hell Squall and Rinoa will make it. (Final Fantasy VIII, PC, PS3, Retro)

I think the first game in the series that we play leaves a lasting effect the most. I'll say it now: Final Fantasy VIII is my FAVORITE Final Fantasy game yet. Mind you, most people would say the top 3 BEST Final Fantasy games (from the numbered series of course) are FFIV, FFVI, and FFVII, and of those 3, I've only finished FFVII (currently playing through the FFIVCC, and I stopped FFVI early into the game due to time restraint). But whenever someone asks for a FFVII remake, I always think of FFVIII in glorious HD... I loved Final Fantasy VII too, but Final Fantasy slightly wins on top for me.

But anyways, as for the topic, I absolutely loved FFVIII's story and dialogue. I didn't really feel the love interest and connection between Tidus and Yuna. Squall's and Rinoa's however was brilliant. Specially when they were in pace-say (if that's a huge spoiler, tell me so I can edit it). The music when they got each other was BRILLIANT, and made a tear up :(
