Sony need to treat us mean and keep us keen for PlayStation 4

We are less than a week away from the world’s eyes being squarely on The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Whether it’s Jack Tretton, Shuhei Yoshida or even Kaz Hirai himself anything less that the reveal of the next PlayStation could bring about the downfall of the internet. (Kaz Hirai, PS3, PS4, Sony)

Ps4 is shown the internet excplodes with negativity no matter how awesome it is.

Sony doesnt show it the internet explodes from trolling.

There a funny video on gametrailers called the do's and don'ts and the guy says keep your big surprise for last and he said that the trailer for Phantom pain isn't MGS5 it is actually the last gaurdian...HEads explode etc. But yeah if they have a huge bomb to drop that would be awesome.

TheLyonKing has it right, Kaz should walk onto the stage, stare at the crowd for a good 2 or 3 minutes without saying a word, Suddenly out of nowhere a drumroll begins, starting slow and speeding up gradually. As the drumroll reaches the optimal speed, Kaz turns around dropping his trousers and bending over at the same time, Tatooed on his left buttock are the letters PS but nothing is written on the right one, in a flash he pulls his buttcheeks apart and the letter 4 is written on the inside... the lights go black.

I think 1st party games are enough to carry the day, but for that extra 'bang' a 2nd party game that was expected to be 3rd party would illuminate even the darkest corners of the internet.

If there was an exclusive from Valve or Epic it would make quite an impact in the west.

and I fully expect an exclusive from SE that will satisfy everyone in Japan.

Epic is forever tied to MS as they have too good relationship there. Valve is going their own way with Steam Box, but then again lately they've been hating on MS so that is a remote possibility.

I think next generation, there isn't going to be many third party exclusives anymore. I'm thinking the 3rd party exclusives are going to come from Japan with the whole Japanese made pride going on so they don't want to support a non-japanese company unless they have to.

It is conceivable Konami could make MGS exclusive to Playstation 4, because of the good relationship (like MS has with Epic).

Financially, it doesn't make sense to make a game exclusive at all for third parties. So don't expect to see that happening to often.

It seems like Sony has a lot to prove but do they really?! When it comes to games they always deliver! For me that's what I want plain and simple good games exclusive or not. Gaming is taking a weird turn with all this social media stuff and the desire to have a box that not only plays games but has to deliver most entertainment needs. I'm a gamer at heart I could honestly care less about streaming Netflix or posting to Facebook etc... Times are changing I guess so it makes sense to try and meet the needs of a changing community where the focus is no longer just meeting gaming needs. I remember when the SNES/PS1 were just all about pure gaming greatness in my opinion we need to get back to this.

This is why I prefer Playstation over Xbox. Microsoft concentrate too much on new apps and services, which is great but none of it benefits you when you just want to play games. I can't see Microsoft making any changes next generation either. I believe they will allow third party developers to do the games while they focus on apps and integrating social media services.

This generation Sony have done an incredible job at acquiring some of the best game developers in the world which will help them massively next gen. I can't seen them having a lack of games next gen even at the beginning of the PS4's life cycle considering how many teams are working for them.
