GTA V vs Modern Warfare 4: Battle for Supremacy and Billion Dollars, Who Will WIN?

Going by the track record of all previous Call of Duty game, each one managed to sell more units than its predecessor, however this time around there's no confirmation that Modern Warfare 4 will have same fate. During recent investor call, Activision stated that sales of next CoD in 2013 is expected to be down from Black Ops 2, and the reason behind this is "challenged global economy" and "the ongoing console transition,".

Well, the original Infinity Ward, those responsible for the original Modern Warfare seemed to care so your sentiments seem a little harsh.

But Rockstar are tremendously talented and always raise the bar in some fashion. They care about the quality that's for sure. For their fans? I don't know but we've heard about poor treatment of their staff before.

I won't be surprised if GTA V does win.

It will be GTAV this year for me. I didn't even buy BO2 last year, my brother did though, usually I buy the CoD games, but didn't fancy buying it lol.

My brother isn't into games like GTA anymore. I can see a lot of people getting GTAV instead of MW this year though.

I think they'd realize a year from now next gen won't have a huge audience.
So, if they were to sell only for next gen they would lose on a lot of sales..

CoD is one of my fav games and GTA is perhaps my fav game ever, GTA V will be pure quality and it look like to be one of the greatest games ever and will set the bar so high not only for open world games but all games in general

Now..... CoD MW4, this game have the potential to be phenomenal IF and only IF they rehired the original IW talent and Introduced a whole new engine, yeah imagine this IW Original Devs using ID tech 5 engine (the one used in RAGE)
that would be an Ape007 dream come true, just imagine the animation

I can scream all day about how much I dislike COD, but the "yearly" sales don't lie. COD is a staple at this point.

All the same though GTA's dev time combined with the slightly waning popularity of COD might mean GTA will out sell. It will be close because, as I understand, MW is considered the better COD.

"challenged global economy" = MW3 sucked and everyone knows it, so NOBODY will want to buy MW4..... thats really what that translates to... plus, BF4 is pretty sure to crap all over CoD this year. It does every year in gameplay, just more 12yr kiddies like their easy, quick CoD fix.
