Experience Metal Gear Rising on a 25000 dollar 4K video projector at Sony Store Osaka

The Sony Store in Osaka invites gamers to try out Metal Gear Rising Revengeance on some of their top of the line equipment. (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, PS3)

4K projector for a 720p(?) game. Overkill much? I'd still like to try it though. :)

Probably they'll have a setup that's able to upscale the game to 4K like they did once with GT5 (I think it was running on 4 PS3s at the same time to achieve 4K gameplay). Otherwise it would kinda be pointless

I'm more impressed by the Sony AR2 speakers they have there.

Off-topic, but Sony makes some of the best sound equipment I've worked with. No joke. I'm not what you'd call brand loayalist but I'm generally skepticle with stereo equipment and headphones that aren't sony.

It struck me as odd when I realized the psvita wasn't up to par with sony's sound quality track record. The built in speakers are fine but the audio out is quite low especially compared to their high end phones.

Those are the SS-NA2ES's in the picture not the SS-AR2's. Still $10k per pair though.

Only a little over 13x the cost of my fronts lol.

No need to tell me Sony has an excellent track record with sound, you just need to try their earphones like the XBA3 or EX1000 to know they mean business. Just simply sad how other brands that cost double the price are more popular.

I had a feeling the Vita had poor sound, to get Uncharted: GA sounding decent I had to Amp it with a headphone amp.

@dasteru

Thanks for the clarification, the SA2's have the same speaker case as the new ES speakers.

that would be cool on pc versions of games, upscaled from 720p to 4k wouldn't be the same. I mean if you are going to pay that much for a tv, you may as well go all out.

When you play a lower Rez
Game on a huge high Rez TV it looks poo :D
papashango  +   836d ago
its a shame tech like that is being held back by crappy resolutions
Drekken  +   836d ago
Why would they release a story like this of a big TV with the highest resolution ever and only include a tiny little .5"X.5" picture?
GearSkiN  +   836d ago
wats the point of playing on 4k when the game doesn't even take a full support of it. next gen better have 4k improvement on all games.
Allsystemgamer  +   836d ago
Not going to happen. 4k AAA games won't happen next gen. If PC games are struggling with it no way in hell a 500$ console will do it.
GearSkiN  +   836d ago
never know maybe, but im sure it will.
Allsystemgamer  +   836d ago
I'm 100% positive it won't. Especially with rumored specs. It takes a 2k$ PC to run bf3 in 4k at 24fps. No way a console will do that.
