Bungie is set to finally release the first official information on Destiny in the next couple of days, but while the game has been mostly shrouded in secrecy, we already know a surprising amount about the Halo creator's next epic..
Looking forward to this game, can't wait to see what they say on Sunday .
The contract still seems kind of shifty. Activision have the right to terminate tje contract if Destiny fails to sell 5 million copies in its first 6 months. Is it not'only on 360 for at least 6 months? Just shows Activision are only in it for the money. Many games would kill for those sales in its lifetime,'but they expect that many for one console? Pretty much what they are saying is that it has to be as big as Halo and Call of Duty straight away. Well, looks like they better have one hell of an advertising campaign.
All companies are in it for the money... That is a companies only focus really. Despite claims of loyalty and such the only thing a company is loyal to is those shareholders. 5 Million isn't too much to ask for and Bungie has the brand name so it will be fine. And 5 Million isn't CoD or Halo numbers. Think Witcher type sales.
JBSleek I know every compoany is in it for the money, it's just that most other companies would be happy with a few million LIFETIME sales, and would continue the series if there was strong enough demand from fans. Plus, The Witcher series has sold 5 million copies across 2 games, 2 platforms, and in 6 years. To sell 5 million in 6 months on ONE console is a major feat. That is what Halo and Cod do (plus few other multi-plat titles). My point was that they are asking for so much, even though there are a lot of companies that would kill to have those sales in tne lifetime of their game. Just hope they advertise the crap out of it.
They'll sell 5 million easily on the 360 alone, if the game has Bungie's usual quality. Advertising won't be an issue if Activision's campaigns for CoD have taught us anything. If it doesn't shoot out of the blocks, the article makes it sound as if the PS3 release may be brought forward. It just can't release simultaneously with the 360 version.
@IronFistChinMi, As Ive said all along...Destiny 1 is exclusive to the 360. It will not grace the PS3 at all. PS3's RAM limitations will not allow an open world co-op game! This game will not be cell-shaded! That is the other reason Bungie will not make this game for the PS3. Destiny 1 may appear on the PS4, we are all sure it will be more than capable of making a great co-op experience. Read #9 from the article one more time. Excluding the ONE sentence they inserted of their opinion on likely PS3 release if it doesnt sell.
Why is it available to pre-order for PS3 on the official Destiny site then genius? http://www.destinythegame.c... and you had the cheek to call people idiots, who didn't believe you.
Four games in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019? 2 years of development time each doesn't seem like enough to make a AAA title.
Bungie have a lot of staff. Halo Reach was developed by a seperate team, whilst the rest were working on Destiny.
Oh ok. In that case they can pull it off.
I love bungie so im sure imma love this game to, but all this talk about sequels and follow up dlc has me worried that we'll get an incomplete game.
Ps3 is more than capable of open world. Guess you havent played enough ps3 games to know that. Start with dust 514.
