It's not the graphics people complain about really, it's the fact it's the same game from years ago and it will be the same game on next gen consoles with a new lick of paint.

They difference between those games and COD is that those developers actually spend time crafting games which will progress and evolve the games as each game goes by

Look at Uncharted to Uncharted 2 for example

Even Uncharted 2 to Uncharted 3 there was a big difference, not as much in graphics this time like the jump from Uncharted to Uncharted 2 but also in the gameplay. Drake moving more realisticly and interacting with the environment more...putting his hand on the railing of stairs, putting his hands on objects as he's running, putting his hands on the wall facing up when he's hit a dead end etc. Small improvments but they made sure to craft the best games they could

that's funny root. Every single time COD is mentioned on here the old engine and bad graphics are brought up every single time. BO2 implemented quite a few new features for multiplayer as well as the single player campaign that allowed for more options and re playability.

You dont make a new formula for a franchise that sells more than any other game each year, you constantly tweak and perfect the formula that works.
The multiplayer is here to stay, Even when the cod kiddies give up for the next cool FPS console game there will still be people who enjoyed the series since the beginning and will continue to play it.

I stopped buying COD games a while ago, but it can't be disputed that millions of people really enjoy it, more so than any other game currently. Based on that fact alone I couldn't honestly say that COD should generally be regarded as a bad game, despite my dislike of it.

That being said no one stays on top forever and eventually COD will fall as developers out-COD COD by building on it's valuable gameplay contributions (control scheme) an create something new and innovative.

If I played COD for the first time today, I'd probably like it but I played it since COD2 and am totally sick of it.

Every year there's a COD and every year people say this year is the last straw and the franchise will die out next year. 8 years on since COD2, COD till strong if not bigger than ever. If i got a quid for every time i hear COD is gonna die next year then i would be a millionair. The fact is that every single year COD breaks some kind of record. Every COD since COD4 has hit 20million or more when an average hit game reaches 5 million max.

Every year COD DOMINATES. It gets good reviews across the media spectrum. Allot of gamers come out and hate it and yet they still go buy it every year which i am guilty of.

I don't think i have hated another game more than COD, but its still the only game i really ever play. The fast paced 60FPS gamplay, killstreak rewards, killcams, perks is just awesome. I mean, when u play games like BF3 u appreciate COD even more. The 60fps and ultra fast gameplay with TDM specifically oriented game in mind, no other game does it better. I've come to realize, we all hate COD but can't get enough of it. That's why every single year we buy it, even with all the bullcraps such as the retardation of Lag comp that fucks u up, big time. Its abit like democracy, its an ugly evil vile form of political entity but yet the other alternatives are worse. COD does have the best formula game play for all.

We can all complain all we want..."its for kids", "its not a thinking mans game", "its the justing bieber of games" lol. No, comparing Justin bieber is not a good analogy, no MAN listen to justin bieber. COD is more like "Porn". Everyone either loves it or hates it but can't get enough of it. From Kids to Adults, porn is just too good just like COD is. U don't sell 20 million every year and call it a fluke, in this case 8 years of perfect formula that is COD.

People in general would always prefer a shooter with fast paced TDM oriented game such as COD than a Territory based shooter like Battlefield.

So if ANY of you read the article you would know that they are claiming that Treyarch's step towards "next-gen"was adding the feature to live-stream matches using the PS eye camera or the Xbox Kinect camera... NOT A NEW ENGINE

But of course nobody read the article, and know all the instant troll comments are just hilarious, because they have nothing to do with the article.

On-Topic, I don' think the ability to stream matches is a big deal..not a "significant leap" as the lead-in paragraph suggests.
